Web services are no longer a new concept. They are rapidly gaining acceptance
and use in the development of e-business applications. By now, the benefits
of using Web services are clear: they provide a modular, self-describing, and
self-contained mechanism to share business logic over the Internet using
standardized messaging protocols. Business logic is separated from the client
code and the database and can be made available to numerous applications.
The payoffs are obvious. However, related standards such as SOAP, AXIS, UDDI,
and JAX-RPC are evolving quickly and various components are needed to
completely implement a Web service, including client code, message protocols,
WSDL, security, registration, and deployment. It is challenging, and in some
cases tedious, for developers to assemble the appropriate components from
scratch while keeping pace with the changing ... (more)
Abstract
There are many different types of command line options that programs need to
recognize. Many languages (e.g.: bash and perl) has built-in processing of
command line options; Java does not. The Java Command Line Options (JCLO)
package performs this task for a variety of option styles. It also uses
Java's reflection capability to automatically assign values to variables in a
specified class.
Introduction
Even in these days of sophisticated graphical user interfaces, many programs
have a wide variety of command line options that help specify their behavior.
It is also the case that command line only programs continue to enjoy wide
use. It is also the case the command line arguments can become quite
complicated, e.g.: -Djava.util.logging.config.file=All.finest -1 --list
--this=that Some languages have built-in parsers for command line options;
perl and bash ar... (more)

Large Enterprises face a constant challenge in balancing technology costs
with new business goals. Many enterprises have existing business processes
bound up in applications that communicate using ‘legacy’ protocols such
as FTP and MQ, which were really designed for behind the firewall operation
in a trusted network. Given these constraints what’s the best way for a
large Enterprise to extend these applications to external customers and
partners without relying on an expensive re-engineering effort or
concentrating risk in a single vendor?
One option is to use a security gateway such as the Intel® Expressway
Service Gatewayto centralize security policy deployment, increase
performance, reduce development costs, and simplify the architecture. In this
post, I will describe a recent customer use case for a service gateway that
highlights the value of this class of pro... (more)

CloudEXPO Stories By Zakia Bouachraoui The precious oil is extracted from the seeds of prickly pear cactus plant. After taking out the seeds from the fruits, they are adequately dried and then cold pressed to obtain the oil. Indeed, the prickly seed oil is quite expensive. Well, that is understandable when you consider the fact that the seeds are really tiny and each seed contain only about 5% of oil in it at most, plus the seeds are usually handpicked from the fruits. This means it will take tons of these seeds to produce just one bottle of the oil for commercial purpose. But from its medical properties to its culinary importance, skin lightening, moisturizing, and protection abilities, down to its extraordinary hair care properties, prickly seed oil has got lots of excellent rewards for anyone who pays the price.
