Sentrigo, Inc. on Tuesday announced that it has joined the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) as a corporate sponsor to help develop best practices for protecting sensitive data and achieving compliance in cloud computing deployments.
Sentrigo will work with the Cloud Security Alliance to help organizations best understand how different approaches for risk mitigation and compliance can address the unique requirements of cloud-based applications, especially as they relate to sensitive data. Sentrigo's Hedgehog database security solutions suite is built on a unique, distributed architecture that monitors and audits data access of each database virtual server, allowing effective security and efficient operation in the cloud.

"Organizations turning to cloud computing environments are continually looking for proven and trusted ways to protect their data and maintain compliance, especially since traditional approaches to security often do not apply," said Jim Reavis, executive director, Cloud Security Alliance. "It is ultimately the responsibility of the data owners to protect their data and be compliant with the various standards and regulations, regardless of the nature of the implementation - in the physical data center or in the cloud. Sentrigo's leadership and expertise in this area will help us develop a set of standards to address these concerns, easing some of the key issues surrounding cloud adoption."
Sentrigo Hedgehog Enterprise, the company's award-winning database activity monitoring and intrusion prevention solution, provides real-time protection and audit against threats in dynamic, virtualized environments. The Hedgehog architecture is designed to protect sensitive data in the cloud, both from external attacks as well as misuse by privileged insiders, addressing critical issues related to compliance audits for key industry regulations.
