Intransa, the leader in simple, green video surveillance solutions for physical security, today announced that it has certified the first Linux-based physical security application for use on Intransa’s growing appliance line. videoNEXT SKM is now available on Intransa VideoAppliance ST-series servers.
videoNEXT, headquartered in Chantilly, Va., is a leader in surveillance software and Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) systems.
“We’ve been using the Intransa platform for video storage since 2007 for some public safety customers. Their new appliance approach simplifies video surveillance application deployment beyond the confines of storage alone,” said Chris Gettings, founder and CEO of videoNEXT. “Now, another of our existing customers intends to deploy our software on the new Intransa SR-860 for their new headquarters to reduce cost and complexity in the installation and maintenance of their security management platform.”
Intransa VideoAppliances eliminate the complexity and cost of integrating commodity servers, storage and other hardware, delivering an installer-ready IP surveillance solution for simplicity, improved reliability and energy savings. videoNEXT SKM is certified with the new Intransa VideoAppliance SR840, SR850 and SR860 server appliances and the complementary VA100st and VA200st storage appliances. Together, the new appliances eliminate the need for commodity servers and storage.
“We’re really excited about offering videoNEXT SKM with our newest appliance product line,” said Bud Broomhead, CEO of Intransa. “SKM is the first Linux-based software system we’ve certified with the Intransa VideoAppliance family. videoNEXT’s Linux reliability, combined with the ease of use of its browser interface will be of real benefit to our customers.”
Intransa VideoAppliance will be on display in booth 781 at ASIS 2009, the physical security industry’s largest end-user event. videoNEXT SKM will be demonstrated in the Intransa booth at the show, connected to a variety of standard and megapixel IP cameras and the Firetide mesh network in the booth. And, videoNEXT will be demonstrating an Intransa VideoAppliance from their booth, 681, connected via the Firetide mesh network as well.
Held at the Anaheim Convention Center, September 21 – 23, Broomhead and other Intransa executives will be on hand to answer questions and demonstrate the company’s industry leading technology.
