Bill Gates has reportedly been making phone calls to the Secretary of Defense
and the Secretary of Commerce to push the American National Standards
Institute to ignore the votes of its advisory committees and vote "yes" on
ISO standardizing Microsoft's Open Office XML (OOXML) format, the one in
competition with the OpenDocument Format (ODF) pushed by IBM and Sun.
Gates reportedly picked up the phone when the last INCITS ballot failed by
one vote to support Microsoft.
The only trouble with getting the US government involved in voting "aye" is
that because of the way OOXML handles XML Scheme the government will have to
break its own rules to use it.

For this first Debt Write-Off, we have decided to perform the refactoring
of OpenKM (6.2.1-DEV).
According to Wikipedia, OpenKM is a Free/Libre document management system
that provides a web interface for managing arbitrary files. OpenKM is a
great tool but an audit of the code revealed some technical debt problems.

In the run-up to the next Cloud Expo, 7th Cloud Expo (November 1–4, 2010)
being held at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Silicon Valley, it's time
to give my earlier list a complete overhaul.
Here, accordingly, is an expanded list of the most active players in the
Cloud Ecosystem.
I have increased it from the 'mere' 150 I identified back in January of this

continuing growth of the "Elastic IT" paradigm throughout the world of
enterprise computing.
Editorial note: The words in quotation marks used to describe the various
services and solutions in this round-up are in every case taken from the Web
sites of the companies themselves. Omissions to this Top 250 list should be

CloudEXPO Stories By Zakia Bouachraoui The precious oil is extracted from the seeds of prickly pear cactus plant. After taking out the seeds from the fruits, they are adequately dried and then cold pressed to obtain the oil. Indeed, the prickly seed oil is quite expensive. Well, that is understandable when you consider the fact that the seeds are really tiny and each seed contain only about 5% of oil in it at most, plus the seeds are usually handpicked from the fruits. This means it will take tons of these seeds to produce just one bottle of the oil for commercial purpose. But from its medical properties to its culinary importance, skin lightening, moisturizing, and protection abilities, down to its extraordinary hair care properties, prickly seed oil has got lots of excellent rewards for anyone who pays the price.
