VoxImplant, a communications cloud platform built specifically for mobile and web app developers, announced the launch of its inaugural product that simplifies the development of real-time communications services for apps. VoxImplant (built by Zingaya, the real-time communication service provider for businesses) now allows developers to easily embed real-time communication (RTC) functionalities into both web and mobile apps.
"With VoxImplant, creating voice- and video-enabled apps has never been faster or easier," says Alexey Aylarov, CEO of Zingaya, the company creating the separate VoxImplant platform designed for developer use. "VoxImplant utilizes a cloud app engine approach to provide all the infrastructure and coding so that developers can focus on their apps without having to struggle with complicated, low-level technologies. Most of the platform functionality can be accessed using JavaScript."

The VoxImplant Web SDK uses WebRTC for WebRTC-enabled browsers and Flash for all others to provide in-browser voice and video capabilities. The native VoxImplant iOS and Android SDKs are also available for integration with mobile apps. Developers can use VoxImplant to easily add services such as a click-to-call customer service feature, masked voice and video chatting for dating apps, a broadcasting feature for their apps, or any of many more uses. The call control logic is written in JavaScript and can be uploaded into the cloud, where the VoxEngine will run whenever a call is made or received on the platform. VoxImplant's scalability and flexibility allow even enterprise-level scenarios to be efficiently and painlessly implemented. The platform also supports SIP, such that calls can be made and received to and from any SIP endpoint.
VoxImplant provides infrastructure and support for these communication capabilities by using a cloud application engine and not the RESTful control interface often used by other communication platforms. Developers can also use HTTP API for provisioning and for call control of specific scenarios -- such as callback -- when client applications built with the VoxImplant Web or Mobile SDK are unavailable.
"VoxImplant provides a unique service that will streamline development of communications features within apps," said Cary FitzGerald, advisor to Zingaya and former director of engineering at Cisco. "Its superior technology positions it well in the fast-growing communications app market."

DevOps is under attack because developers don’t want to mess with infrastructure. They will happily own their code into production, but want to use platforms instead of raw automation. That’s changing the landscape that we understand as DevOps with both architecture concepts (CloudNative) and process redefinition (SRE).
Rob Hirschfeld’s recent work in Kubernetes operations has led to the conclusion that containers and related platforms have changed the way we should be thinking about DevOps and controlling infrastructure. The rise of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) is part of that redefini...
