Super Bowl MVP is a Champion for Babies
NEW YORK, Feb. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- The March of Dimes New York Division announced today that Super Bowl MVP, Eli Manning, will return for a second year, to lead March for Babies(R) in Manhattan on Sunday, April 26. Manning will be joined by CBS 2 News Co-Anchor, Maurice DuBois, WCBS-TV/CBS 2 Sports Anchor and Reporter, Sam Ryan, who will co-host the morning program.
"I'm very excited to be working with March of Dimes again this year," said Manning. "Everyone can be a champion for babies by joining me and signing up for March for Babies(R)." Manning is set to walk with thousands of New Yorkers on Sunday, April 26.
In an effort to bring more walkers to the event, March for Babies(R) organizers revamped the Manhattan route; shortening it from 5.5 to 3 miles. The walk will start at Lincoln Center in Manhattan and end at Madison Square Park on 23 St. Finish line festivities are planned and will include music and refreshments.
March for Babies(R) is the March of Dimes premier fundraising event that benefits all babies -- those born healthy as well as those who need help to survive and thrive. Now in its 39th year, the March of Dimes walk event was the first in the country, and last year raised nearly $110 million dollars nationally to support programs of research advocacy, community programs and education. The fundraising goal for New York City this year is $3 million dollars.
Premature birth touches half a million babies and their families every year in the United States, including over 30,000 in New York State. Babies born too soon are more likely to die or have lifelong disabilities. Babies born healthy need champions too, to assure they have access to newborn screening and preventive health care. The March of Dimes is there for all babies.
The Manhattan March for Babies takes place on Sunday, April 26 at Lincoln Center in Manhattan. To register, or for information on other sites in the NY metro area visit www.marchforbabies.org.
National sponsors are Kmart, CIGNA, Farmers, FedEx, Famous Footwear, Liberty Tax Services, Continental Airlines, Ther-Rx, First Response and Mead Johnson Nutritionals. Local sponsors include CIGNA, AECOM, Reuters, Newmark Knight Frank, FedEx, and Price WaterhouseCoopers. Local media partners include WCBS-TV, WCBS Newsradio 880, fresh 102.7, and WCBS-FM 101.1.
The March of Dimes is the leading nonprofit organization for pregnancy and baby health. With chapters nationwide and its premier event, March for Babies, the March of Dimes works to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. By Elizabeth White Today's workforce is trading their cubicles and corporate desktops in favor of an any-location, any-device work style. And as digital natives make up more and more of the modern workforce, the appetite for user-friendly, cloud-based services grows. The center of work is shifting to the user and to the cloud. But managing a proliferation of SaaS, web, and mobile apps running on any number of clouds and devices is unwieldy and increases security risks. Steve Wilson, Citrix Vice President of Cloud,... By Liz McMillan When Enterprises started adopting Hadoop-based Big Data environments over the last ten years, they were mainly on-premise deployments. Organizations would spin up and manage large Hadoop clusters, where they would funnel exabytes or petabytes of unstructured data. However, over the last few years the economics of maintaining this enormous infrastructure compared with the elastic scalability of viable cloud options has changed this equation.

By Pat Romanski Artificial intelligence, machine learning, neural networks. We're in the midst of a wave of excitement around AI such as hasn't been seen for a few decades. But those previous periods of inflated expectations led to troughs of disappointment. This time is (mostly) different. Applications of AI such as predictive analytics are already decreasing costs and improving reliability of industrial machinery. Pattern recognition can equal or exceed the ability of human experts in some domains. It's devel... Feb. 13, 2019 04:45 PM EST |
