Cloud Expo and The End of Tech Recession

http://twitter.com/fuatkircaali At SYS-CON Media we see our inventories are filling up to 100% capacity for the months of November, December, and January, and we are seeing better-than-normal RFP activity for the first quarter of 2010. When I say this, I am comparing the current insertion order activity to the same period last year. We will be closing 2009 roughly 32% below 2008 in revenues (far better than any other tech media company), which forced us to reduce our expenses for the same period by around 40%. Last fall, while the world was falling apart, we were preparing for a 40%-45% drop in advertising revenues for 2009. We did better than our worst projections. Chuck Phillips Was Supposed to Become CEO of CA

Oracle Keynote at Cloud Expo Cloud Computing News - Oracle co-president Charles Phillips was supposed to become CEO of CA - for all its muddied skirts still one of the world's largest software companies - and then those "soul mates forever" billboards popped up in New York, Atlanta and San Francisco, exposing his near decade-long bi-coastal double life with wife and son in the East and a live-in girlfriend in the West. Six days after Phillips was forced to admit that a picture of him and his ex-girlfriend canoodling was hanging over Times Square, CA named board member and executive chairman Bill McCracken CEO. In very short order, the term "Blockchain" has lost an incredible amount of meaning. With too many jumping on the bandwagon, the market is inundated with projects and use cases that miss the real potential of the technology. We have to begin removing Blockchain from the conversation and ground ourselves in the motivating principles of the technology itself; whether it is consumer privacy, data ownership, trust or even participation in the global economy, the world is faced with serious problems that this technology could ultimately help us in at least partially solving. But if we do not unpack what is real and what is not, we can lose sight of the potential. In this presentation, John Bates-who leads data science, machine learning and AI in the Adobe Analytics business unit-will present his 4-prong model of the general areas where Blockchain can have a real impact and the specific use...
For enterprises to maintain business competitiveness in the digital economy, IT modernization is required. And cloud, with its on-demand, elastic and scalable principles has resoundingly been identified as the infrastructure model capable of supporting fast-changing business requirements that enterprises are challenged with, as a result of our increasingly connected world. In fact, Gartner states that by 2022, 28% of enterprise IT spending will have shifted to cloud. But enterprises still must determine which clouds are best suited for each application, in order to achieve IT governance, while accounting for complex data privacy requirements. It's safe to say that enterprises know their future looks cloudy, and that this infrastructure will soon become a mix of multi, hybrid, and on-prem enterprise clouds.
At CloudEXPO Silicon Valley, June 24-26, 2019, Digital Transformation (DX) is a major focus with expanded DevOpsSUMMIT and FinTechEXPO programs within the DXWorldEXPO agenda. Successful transformation requires a laser focus on being data-driven and on using all the tools available that enable transformation if they plan to survive over the long term. A total of 88% of Fortune 500 companies from a generation ago are now out of business. Only 12% still survive. Similar percentages are found throughout enterprises of all sizes.
While a hybrid cloud can ease that transition, designing and deploy that hybrid cloud still offers challenges for organizations concerned about lack of available cloud skillsets within their organization. Managed service providers offer a unique opportunity to fill those gaps and get organizations of all sizes on a hybrid cloud that meets their comfort level, while delivering enhanced benefits for cost, efficiency, agility, mobility, and elasticity.
