The Apache Software Foundation Announces Call for Participation for ApacheCon US 2006

FOREST HILL, MD -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 06/06/06 -- The Apache Software Foundation (ASF) today announced the Call for Participation for ApacheCon US 2006, its 9th official conference. Lauded among the leading success stories in the Open Source community, the ASF stewards, incubates, and develops leading Open Source projects, including Apache HTTP Server, the world's most popular Web server software.

ApacheCon is the premiere developer event dedicated to showcasing key Apache technologies, drawing hundreds of participants to experience the future of Open Source development. The conference offers a unique opportunity to interact with internationally renowned contributors, influencers, and organizations in the Open Source community, and encourages the exchange of ideas amongst ASF members, innovators, developers, vendors, and users.

Addressing the hotly debated demand for, and the use of, non-proprietary technologies on a global scale, ApacheCon is an ideal forum for both beginners and experts alike. Attendees benefit from unparalleled educational opportunities with in-depth tutorials, hands-on sessions, and "first-looks" of new technologies presented by a roster of internationally recognized speakers and instructors. ApacheCon is the focal point of the community, where delegates meet, mingle, and exchange ideas on groundbreaking new technologies, development challenges, project implementation, client needs, and emerging industry trends, through informal networking, peer discussions, birds-of-a-feather sessions, and entertaining events.

ApacheCon US 2006 will be held 9-13 October 2006 at the Hilton Hotel in Austin, Texas. Leading with tutorials on 9-10 October, the conference and exhibit floor open on 11-13 October.

Digital Transformation is much more than a buzzword. The radical shift to digital mechanisms for almost every process is evident across all industries and verticals. This is often especially true in financial services, where the legacy environment is many times unable to keep up with the rapidly shifting demands of the consumer. IoT is rapidly becoming mainstream as more and more investments are made into the platforms and technology. As this movement continues to expand and gain momentum it creates a massive wall of noise that can be difficult to sift through. Unfortunately, this inevitably makes IoT less approachable for people to get started with and can hamper efforts to integrate this key technology into your own portfolio. There are so many connected products already in place today with many hundreds more on the h...
The standardization of container runtimes and images has sparked the creation of an almost overwhelming number of new open source projects that build on and otherwise work with these specifications. Of course, there's Kubernetes, which orchestrates and manages collections of containers. It was one of the first and best-known examples of projects that make containers truly useful for production use. However, more recently, the container ecosystem has truly exploded. A service mesh like Istio addr...
