As the cloud market explodes, a distinct chasm has become apparent between
the operation of infrastructure and applications. Sharing, isolation and load
balancing issues in the network, combined with high density virtualization in
compute and storage resources, can adversely impact the performance of
applications running across the network, frustrating application developers
and end users alike.
Enter application defined networking (ADN), which offers great business value
for cloud users. A complement to software defined networking (SDN), ADN
enables applications to directly control and adapt their networking for
optimal performance across both public and private clouds, without
compromising on portability or security. With ADN solutions, developers and
administrators can automatically instrument, analyze and reconfigure the
virtual network of resources to ensure t... (more)

The chattering classes - both the blogosphere and the established press - are
atwitter over the rumor - this particular one revived a few days ago by TG
Daily - that Google is finally going to unveil its unconfirmed S3-like online
storage scheme, otherwise known as GDrive and more lately as Web Drive -
well, if not soon then sometime this year - and blow Windows PCs out of the
water by reducing them to devices that simply access the cloud.
Google of course is expected to reinforce the move with its own updated
Office-replacing Google Apps and other Web Services, giving GDrive a cachet
(and an interface) that EMC's Mozy, Microsoft's SkyDrive and Amazon's S3
online storage lack.
Resistance is only expected from those Luddites unwilling to trade one master
for another and let Google search the contents of what were their hard drives
so it can insert ads or who would su... (more)
Here are some thing to think about when you set up an eCommerce site cheaply,
and how to consider doing it:
1. Get a shopping site provider like Shopify.com. I will send you some of
their competitors tomorrow so you can compare.
2. Sign up for your gmail account.
3. Once you get a site, you will need to sign up for:
a. Google Webmaster Central (For making sure your site is crawled by Google)
b. Google Analytics (for watching your site)
c. Google AdWords (For advertising)
d. Blogger account (for the blog)
e. Twitter/Facebook accounts for fan and discount pages.
f. Set up a Yahoo Site Explorer site
g. Who will do you email marketing? (I recommend MailChimp for simplicity)
4. You will also have to consider the following:
a. What are you important keywords?
b. Who will write content for your blog?
c. How much can you spend on ads? Where and who do you want to target?

Manny Pacquiao, the Pambansang Kamao ("National Fist") of the Philippines,
beat the living tar out of the very tough amigo Miguel Cotto on Sunday
afternoon, November 15, 2009, keeping a skein of big victories intact and
once again upholding the pride of an entire nation of more than 90 million
people.
The fight was held on a Saturday night in Las Vegas. With the 16-hour time
difference, it was already Sunday in the Philippines. I watched it on the
slightly-delayed broadcast over the GMA TV network, one of the two ratings
gorillas here.
I was going to go to Araneta Coliseum, the historic venue in Quezon City (on
the eastern fringe of Manila) where "The Thrilla" between Ali and Joe Frazier
was fought in 1973 during the Marcos regime. The old place is still there, a
hubbub of activity many days of the year. The best seats were about $10 US.
I was warned off. Too many ... (more)
Use RSS and Google Reader to Quickly Peruse B2B Marketing BlogsThank goodness
for my Google Reader, I don’t know how I’d keep up with all of
the terrific B2B marketing resources being shared without it. I know many
people subscribe to blogs via email, but I get so much in my inbox that even
organizing it with folders and setting up rules for specific emails
doesn’t help me quickly peruse what’s out there.
I subscribe to my favorite B2B marketing blogs and news sites via RSS through
Google Reader and I can quickly and conveniently see what’s new and
interesting to me so I can just read what I want and leave the rest for
another time. For example, I was perusing blogs via my iPhone while getting
my car washed the other day. During my lunch break (when I let myself have
one) I’ll take a mental break from work but still be productive b... (more)

users. Today, I was looking for a concert tickets, and Facebook is already
there too offering “See who’s sitting where option”. I was assuming
that people want some privacy while attending the show. I was wrong.
