International Virtualization Conference & Expo in New York City this coming
March 30-April 1, 2009. Litkey, who before starting Embotics founded Symbium,
a venture capital funded company focused on Autonomic Computing and the
automated management of IT infrastructure, will be looking at compliance
issues in what he calls The New Age of Virtualization.
"Virtualization technology enables greater agility and business benefits, but
changes everything, including a company’s compliance and audit processes,"

presenting at SYS-CON's 5th International Virtualization Conference & Expo
being held in New York City this coming March 30-April 1, 2009. Berryman, who

"Application virtualization technology is changing the way software is

"Indeed, bringing virtualization to the endpoint offers IT a natural
migration path toward a more fluid computing environment — one that
effectively balances the often conflicting trade-offs between security and
flexibility," he continues.
In this session delegates will not on... (more)
The United States government has accused Robert Moffat, IBM’s server chief,
the guy who was negotiating to buy Sun, with betraying Sun’s financial
position to Danielle Chiesi, an employee of New Castle Partners, a New York
hedge fund, so she could trade on the insider information.
Moffat knew what Sun’s numbers were going to be because he was one of the
nine IBMers doing due diligence at Sun this past January.
In a wire-tapped phone call Chiesi made to an unidentified person now
cooperating with the government’s investigation she said, “IBM is looking
at it as a takeover. The only reason my guy would know that is because it’s
his deal. Like, he’s in bed with them….You see what I mean…not because
he’s just speculating.”
The news that IBM was negotiating to buy Sun didn’t leak to the Wall Street
Journal and hence to the world for another two months.

Cloud Expo 2011 New York $500 Savings here!
There are several important factors for successful cloud deployment. While
infrastructure - whether public, private or hybrid models - tends to dominate
the discussion, applications are critical to establishing value in the cloud.
Too often, organizations underestimate the effort required to deploy and
manage cloud applications, thus experiencing costly delays that negate the
cloud's benefits.
In his session at the 8th International Cloud Expo, Marc Wilkinson, Director,
Cloud Global Practice at HP Enterprise Business, will discuss both the engine
and autopilot at the heart of cloud environments. He will also provide best
practices from IT experts to equip attendees with the knowledge to build
automated, repeatable processes that provide control, manageability and
assurance for cloud success.

Oct. 23, 2018 10:00 PM EDT | By Zakia Bouachraoui When building large, cloud-based applications that operate at a high scale, it’s important to maintain a high availability and resilience to failures. In order to do that, you must be tolerant of failures, even in light of failures in other areas of your application. “Fly two mistakes high” is an old adage in the radio control airplane hobby. It means, fly high enough so that if you make a mistake, you can continue flying with room to still make mistakes. In his session at 18th Cloud Expo, Lee Atchison, Principal Cloud Architect and Advocate at New Relic, will discuss how this same philosophy can be applied to highly scaled applications, and can dramatically increase your resilience to failure.
