java.io.UTFDataFormatException: Invalid byte 1 of 1-byte UTF-8 sequence.
There's only one explanation of that: the parser is expecting the document to
be encoded in UTF-8 but it isn't. To understand why it isn't, you need to
examine how the document was created and any transcodings that might have
taken place before it reached the parser.

The institutional horror stories continue, the old Internet Protocol Version
4 (IPv4) address space is nearly gone, and if we do not transition to IPv6
with its nearly unlimited address space the Internet will grind to a halt.
A recent survey in Europe by the European Commission concludes that even in
technology-progressive European countries "few companies are prepared for the
switch from the current naming protocol, IPv4, to the new regime (protocol),
IPv6." ARIN (the US-based Internet Registry) agrees, reminding us that "with
less than 15% of IPv4 address space remaining, ARIN is now compelled to
advise the Internet community that migration to IPv6 is necessary for any
applications that require ongoing availability of contiguous IP number
resources."
OK, so what the heck? Why aren't we listening to those who understand the
sense of urgency to migrate to IPv6, and... (more)

Catz took a bunch of Oracle users to an EC hearing a week ago to buttress the
company’s claims that the EC had put words in users’ mouths to support
the theory of harm it manufactured to try to stop Oracle from getting MySQL.

as a letter from the US Senate and a public statement from the Justice
Department.

server-based application publishing and Web-enabling software solutions,
announced today that it has prevailed in a lawsuit wherein Juniper alleged
that GraphOn infringed one of Juniper’s patents.
The lawsuit, filed by Juniper in March 2009, alleged that GraphOn and one of
GraphOn’s resellers infringed Juniper’s recently acquired U.S. Patent No.
6,243,752 (“the ‘752 Patent”). On October 9, 2009, GraphOn filed a
motion for summary judgment providing clear evidence that GraphOn does not
