IT security pioneer NETASQ, continues to prosper, posting strong profitability in 2011

NETASQ continues its expansion in the information network security market, as protection from online threats remains an inescapable priority for businesses of all sizes

London, 14th June 2012 Network security pioneer and innovator NETASQ today highlights the progress the company has made during 2011, in its bid to continue on its path of growth and profitability. The number of solutions brought to market has increased by 7% and the company's average annual rate of growth in sales has now exceeded 18% over the past 10 fiscal years to reach close to 18€M. Furthermore, as a reflection of the credibility of its software range, sales of NETASQ's Virtual Appliance solutions, launched in 2010, have grown five fold in 2011.

NETASQ's dynamism and ambition to continue to innovate also saw it acquire EdenWall Technologies, a French publisher of network security solutions based on the filtering of connections by user identities, during 2011. The acquisition meant this leading edge technology is now integrated into its network security solutions, and places NETASQ as one of the leaders in providing businesses with the most robust and powerful network security on the market today.

In 2011, NETASQ continued to innovate and stepped up its research and development efforts, which resulted in the launch of version 9 of its UTM appliances, a major version that optimally combines performance, protection and control. This new major version provides unparalleled security on the market with a uniquely simple implementation process. To provide support for future changes to internet protocols and to adapt to changes in network infrastructures, this version was certified IPv6 Ready Gold after a battery of thorough tests conducted by the IPv6 forum.

Added protection methods for SCADA protocols aimed at countering the outbreak of threats targeting critical control systems of industrial and technical installations were warmly received by both potential and existing customers across Europe. Likewise, the NETASQ 3G MODEM, a plug & play hardware option that provides internet access continuity 24/7 via mobile networks, was a rousing success and now equips various chains of stores.

During 2011, the company completed its range of administration, management and monitoring software programs with the launch of NETASQ EVENT ANALYSER (NEA) and NETASQ CENTRALISED MANAGER (NCM), critical for the management of large appliance groups.

These technological breakthroughs have allowed NETASQ to win an exceptional number of prestigious prizes in 2011, including:

  • The 2011 Red Herring 100 Europe prize

  • The Prix de l'Ambition 2011, awarded by Banque Palatine, in the Growth category for the Ile de France / North-east regions

  • The Prix Grandes Entreprises by Deloitte Technology Fast 50 for the Nord / Picardie region

  • The SME Security Solution of the Year award for the NETASQ U70 appliance in the scope of the 2011 Computing Security Awards

  • The BEST 2011 prize for version 9 in the Network Firewalls category, in the scope of the Golden Bridge Awards

  • Its selection to participate in the French delegation for the 2012 G20 YES (Young Entrepreneur Summit)

Furthermore, NETASQ was for the second time ranked as one of Gartner Inc's Magic Quadrant Visionaries for the Unified Threat Management (UTM) market.

"2011 was a very exciting year for NETASQ and its distribution partners, in France and abroad. The many prizes we were awarded are signs of genuine recognition of NETASQ's leadership, dynamism and ability to innovate in network security. I am also particularly proud of the fact that we have continued on our path of growth, and doubled the number of employees since 2007. Our teams are ready to rise up to new challenges by going further in perfecting our technologies, continuing the expansion of our client base and delivering uncompromised security," said François Lavaste, President of NETASQ's board of directors.

The standardization of container runtimes and images has sparked the creation of an almost overwhelming number of new open source projects that build on and otherwise work with these specifications. Of course, there's Kubernetes, which orchestrates and manages collections of containers. It was one of the first and best-known examples of projects that make containers truly useful for production use. However, more recently, the container ecosystem has truly exploded. A service mesh like Istio addr...
To Really Work for Enterprises, MultiCloud Adoption Requires Far Better and Inclusive Cloud Monitoring and Cost Management … But How? Overwhelmingly, even as enterprises have adopted cloud computing and are expanding to multi-cloud computing, IT leaders remain concerned about how to monitor, manage and control costs across hybrid and multi-cloud deployments. It’s clear that traditional IT monitoring and management approaches, designed after all for on-premises data centers, are falling short in ...

If a machine can invent, does this mean the end of the patent system as we know it? The patent system, both in the US and Europe, allows companies to protect their inventions and helps foster innovation. However, Artificial Intelligence (AI) could be set to disrupt the patent system as we know it. This talk will examine how AI may change the patent landscape in the years to come. Furthermore, ways in which companies can best protect their AI related inventions will be examined from both a US and...

IoT is rapidly becoming mainstream as more and more investments are made into the platforms and technology. As this movement continues to expand and gain momentum it creates a massive wall of noise that can be difficult to sift through. Unfortunately, this inevitably makes IoT less approachable for people to get started with and can hamper efforts to integrate this key technology into your own portfolio. There are so many connected products already in place today with many hundreds more on the h...
