Tesora to Deliver Oracle Database Connectivity in OpenStack Trove
Enterprises can now provision Oracle Database in OpenStack via the latest
version of the Tesora private cloud Database as a Service (DBaaS) platform,
the company's enhanced implementation of OpenStack Trove.
Tesora has developed the first Trove guest agent for Oracle Database 12c.
Enterprises can now use OpenStack Trove to create, configure, and start
Oracle pluggable databases within a container database environment. The
Oracle container database can be pre-provisioned on dedicated hardware to
deliver an ideal user experience and efficient use of resources.
The implementation includes a Trove guest agent for Oracle Database, which
acts as a proxy between OpenStack and the Oracle server to administer
databases. Tesora's Remote Agent Architecture simplifies agent communication
with Oracle Database.

Just was getting some thoughts out about using GPGPUs (nVidia’s Tesla and
Fermi products, ATI’s FireStream) for handling some of the menial
cloud-based operations (metadata calc, metadata location servicing, offload,
etc.) that we have as part of any type of cloud file system.
So, what are your thoughts? The capacity to further collapse x86 commodity
platforms by utilizing the extreme amount of processing capability present
within these GPGPUs and coupling optimized OpenCL or CUDA routines into the
standard CFS processing stack.
Just something to think about.

adopting cloud computing most?
* What are the major challenges hindering the adoption of cloud computing by
large enterprises?
* How can companies overcome their concerns to ensure they benefit from cloud
computing?

At Ajax.org they understand that the browser is the future; therefore they
have always seen the Open Web as a robust platform for application
development. Meanwhile JavaScript is making its grand comeback. Combine these
two ideas and you get Cloud9 IDE. Cloud9 IDE hopes to be the IDE for
JavaScript developers built by JavaScript developers. JavaScript applications
run online for a purpose, so why shouldn't you develop your application
online too?
In their session at the 8th International Cloud Expo, Lieke Arends, Business
Development Manager at Ajax.org, and Rik Arends, Co-Founder and CTO of
Ajax.org, will discuss the advantages of developing in the cloud (many of
which most developers probably don't know).

#webperf #cloud With performance rising as a concern for cloud computing
adoption, the disparity between services in the data center and the cloud
needs to be addressed.
One of the negative's of cloud computing is it's one-size-fits-all approach
to infrastructure. A single load balancing system (and subsequently
configuration) is considered acceptable for all applications. After all, it's
just about distributing requests, isn't it?
Except it isn't, and neither are myriad other infrastructure services that
provide not only customized services for applications but additional benefits
not currently offered by what are commoditized versions of functionality.
Even assuming an organization is using a fairly non-customized Load balancer,
there is a disparity between the algorithms supported by the industry and
those supported today by cloud computing providers. If you don't... (more)
CloudEXPO Stories By Pat Romanski Digital Transformation is much more than a buzzword. The radical shift to digital mechanisms for almost every process is evident across all industries and verticals. This is often especially true in financial services, where the legacy environment is many times unable to keep up with the rapidly shifting demands of the consumer. The constant pressure to provide complete, omnichannel delivery of customer-facing solutions to meet both regulatory and customer demands is putting enormous pressure on organizations of all sizes and in every line of business. Fintech is a constant battleground for this technology expanding trend and the lessons learned here can be applied anywhere. Digital transformation isn't going to go away and the need for greater understanding and skills around managing, guiding, and understanding the greater landscape of change is required for effective transformations. With the success of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and various open source technologies used to build private clouds, cloud computing has become an essential component of IT strategy. However, users continue to face challenges in implementing clouds, as older technologies evolve and newer ones like Docker containers gain prominence. He explored these challenges and how to address them, while considering how containers will influence the direction of cloud computing.
