PostFinance, the Swiss Post Office bank, has closed the account that
WikiLeaks boss Julian Assange opened after PayPal late Friday closed the one
the renegade site has been using to collect donations.
The Swiss Post bank said Monday morning that it found "Assange provided false
information regarding his place of residence when opening the account."
The statement on the bank's web site adds that "The Australian citizen
provided false information regarding his place of residence during the
account opening process. Assange entered Geneva as his domicile. Upon
inspection, this information was found to be incorrect. Assange cannot
provide proof of residence in Switzerland and thus does not meet the criteria
for a customer relationship with PostFinance. For this reason, PostFinance is
entitled to close his account. If there is any indication that the

PubNub released an open source template to allow developers to add Skype-like
video chat into their apps. The free template provides a fully functional
video chat platform using WebRTC, PubNub and Google Authentication for a
global, reliable collaboration solution.
"While the WebRTC protocol has created huge excitement as a way to deliver
video chat ubiquitously, there's still a gap between the protocol itself and
the ability to deploy a working, globally scaled, collaboration application
using this technology," said Stephen Blum, CTO and co-founder of PubNub.
"Now, by combining PubNub's Real-Time Network and WebRTC, anyone can deliver
a true, Skype-like video chat app in a matter of days."
All the core elements needed to build and deploy a fully featured WebRTC

When you visit Newsweek.com, the words you read started their journey
milliseconds earlier from an Amazon.com datacenter somewhere in northern
Virginia. And if you visited Wikileaks.org earlier this week, the bytes
comprising leaked U.S. embassy cables would have traveled a similar path from
Amazon servers based in northern California or Ireland.
While WikiLeaks and Newsweek are very different organizations, we both relied
on the 21st century equivalent of the printing press – cloud computing –

The US Federal Communications Commission has recently reported that "theft of
digital information has become the most commonly reported fraud, surpassing
physical theft." Businesses can do a lot to protect themselves. The FCC
issued a Tip Sheet for small businesses to promote employee security
training, firewalls, securing of WiFis, and more. But for business operating
in (or migrating to) cloud environments; data security, cloud computing
security issues, and challenges take on new meanings and require new
strategies.

So, the first week "on the air" went very well. Not an easy week, but
remarkable good.
We rapidly increase our midstock and microstock collection of royalty free
images and this keeps our hands busy all the time. The infrastructure we
choose for www.pixamba.com is extremely versatile and can be adjusted
according to the system load and storage capacity. Since both the load and
the images collection growth all the time, and fast, we work around the clock
ensuring high system uptime and short response time.
It seems that we are on the right way: the response time of the system is
very good even now and it is going to be even faster soon, when we'll do some
more IT & development work.

Personal Branding on Ulitzer
I read an article by an author on Ulitzer.com and was amazed at the
professional image it provided him. I immediately researched Ulitzer to see
if there was yet hope for me.
I am a technology blogger on the subject of mobile computing strategies. As
I was doing research I came across the author Ian Thain, a fellow mobile
computing blogger, who had a very professional website on Ulitzer
(www.ulitzer.com).
Professional envy motivated me to investigate this thing called Ulitzer.
Ian's website looked like he had spent a great deal of time and money on it -
all things I am short on.
I carefully studied Ian's website to see how it was set up. It looked like
an expensive industry portal with colorful graphics, animation and industry
news.
It had tabs that filtered articles, by most popular, by date, etc. I have

New Year 2010 on Ulitzer
On December 31, EarthCam (www.earthcam.com), the world's favorite webcam
network and industry leader in webcam technology, webcast its 14th annual New
Year's Eve Times Square interactive celebration live from New York City and
locations around the world.
EarthCam brought the world's largest party in Times Square directly to
visitors live in real time via its interactive New Year's website and without
commercial interruption. The evening's events were also accessible through
mobile devices, including the iPhone.
