ShareInsights: A Unified Approach to Full-Stack Data Processing
The essence of data analysis involves setting up data pipelines that consist of several operations that are chained together - starting from data collection, data quality checks, data integration, data analysis and data visualization (including the setting up of interaction paths in that visualization). In our opinion, the challenges stem from the technology diversity at each stage of the data pipeline as well as the lack of process around the analysis.
In his session at @ThingsExpo, Mukund Deshpande, head of analytics practice at Accelerite, will present a platform that aims to significantly reduce the time it takes to build data pipelines and allows one to manage the analytics life cycle.
Speaker Bio
Mukund Deshpande heads the Analytics practice in Accelerite and owns the ShareInsights initiative. He has over 18 years of experience in the field of analytics, working in variety of different roles. He has been involved in several cutting-edge projects and internationally recognized award-winning initiatives. One of the marquee engagements was creating the analytics around social media for the TV show Satyameva Jayate, building innovative apps based on cutting-edge text analytics and Big Data technologies. Mukund holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota, where his research was on data mining techniques for sequences and graphs.

I love EMC World (though I can’t say the same about Las Vega$). I get an opportunity to talk to customers who are at the dirty and grimy frontline of trying to derive value from all of this Big Data hoopla. They teach me tons!
One theme that came up several times in our conversations was the following:
“I can’t get the Business to engage in an envisioning type of engagement. We have lost their trust. So we are forced to start our Big Data journey from the technology.”
More is being required today of network infrastructure than ever before, due in part to the changing latency and bandwidth needs of modern applications. Wide area networks (“WANs”) are feeling the pressure, especially those that use many technologies from different services providers, are geographically diverse and are stretched to the limit by increased video and cloud app usage.
In view of these challenges, hybrid WAN architectures with advanced application-level traffic routing are of particular interest. They combine the reliability of private lines for critical business applications wit...
The Internet of Things has the potential to completely change how we live and work. It’s already causing an evolution in the workplace - especially where IT is involved.
By 2020, there will be over 38 billion connected devices. In the interest of convenience and efficiency, we're shoving embedded computers into pretty much every single product and appliance we use, from fridges and blenders to thermostats and security systems. Wi-Fi connected device are no longer an oddity or for use simply by the elite; they're a regularity in both our personal and professional lives.
In the rush to compete in the digital age, a successful digital transformation is essential, but many organizations are setting themselves up for failure. There’s a common misconception that the process is just about technology, but it’s not. It’s about your business. It shouldn’t be treated as an isolated IT project; it should be driven by business needs with the committed involvement of a range of stakeholders.
As machines are increasingly connected to the internet, it’s becoming easier to discover the numerous ways Industrial IoT (IIoT) is helping to shape the business world. This is exactly why we have decided to take a closer look at this pervasive movement and to examine the desire to connect more things!
Now if you need a refresher on IIoT and how it is changing the world, take a moment and listen to Greg Gorbach with ARC Advisory Group. Gorbach believes, "IIoT will significantly change the world. You won't participate with conventional thinking and an incremental approach."
One look at the comments section of an April column on digital marketing in TechCrunch, and it becomes obvious that contributor Samuel Scott, the marketing and communications director for data analytics software firm Logz.io, pushed a few hot buttons with his take on marketing tech.
Scott argues for a back-to-basics approach to marketing that roots digital strategies firmly in old-school tradition and PR principles. He calls out the communications industry for its reliance on “an echo chamber of meaningless buzzwords” in a piece now shared nearly 16,000 times, with more than 140 comments from...
Big Data analytics and the Internet of Things are still relative newcomers. Given how quickly technology moves, though, it’s not surprising that their next incarnations are already being talked about: cognitive analytics and a much-grown Internet of Things (IoT).
