Understanding the core objective is alone not enough to find greater success
with content marketing. The reason very few marketers find their content
marketing strategies effective is because of the lack of personalization.
Content marketing is everywhere and it is not going away anytime soon. A
survey conducted by IDC found that CMOs at some of the biggest technological
companies in the world regarded building content marketing competency as the
second most important initiative in their organizations just behind ROI. Yet,
as another study from the CMO council shows, less than 2 percent of
marketers believe their content marketing strategy is highly effective.
One of the primary reasons behind this low figure is the lack of clear
objectives. A survey by Content Marketing Institute asked B2B marketers what
they thought an effective content marketing program looked in t... (more)

Over the past couple of months, we at Idiom Strategies have pitched a string
of proposals to companies who stated they had an interest in doing something
different and wanted to know if they should “get into social media”.
When we initially met with these companies and explained our view of
Conversation Marketing being the convergence of all aspects of marketing and
that some of the biggest thought-leaders in the marketing world have been
talking about the importance of conversing with audiences as opposed to
talking at them, they all seemed thrilled with the ideas. As you can imag... (more)
Wow, look at me, I'm famous. Oh wait, what have I done. Are people going to

The recent announcement from Amazon of the Virtual Private Cloud (VPC)
represents the next big advance in the evolution chain for cloud computing.
Enterprises can now integrate their IT infrastructure with Amazon's vast
computing and storage resources, using a VPN connection from their data
center to their own virtual private cloud which then looks like part of their
internal network.
Until the release of VPC, companies were left to build applications and
utilize the cloud as a separate and somewhat siloed portion of their
computing environment. In addi... (more)

@ThingsExpo Stories By Elizabeth White Developing software for the Internet of Things (IoT) comes with its own set of challenges. Security, privacy, and unified standards are a few key issues. In addition, each IoT product is comprised of (at least) three separate application components: the software embedded in the device, the backend service, and the mobile application for the end user’s controls. Each component is developed by a different team, using different technologies and practices, and deployed to a different stack/target – ... Jan. 15, 2016 08:00 AM EST Reads: 519 | By Elizabeth White There is little doubt that Big Data solutions will have an increasing role in the Enterprise IT mainstream over time. Big Data at Cloud Expo - to be held June 7-9, 2016, at the Javits Center in New York City, NY - has announced its Call for Papers is open.
Cloud computing is being adopted in one form or another by 94% of enterprises today. Tens of billions of new devices are being connected to The Internet of Things.
And Big Data is driving this bus. An exponential increase is expected in the... Jan. 15, 2016 07:15 AM EST Reads: 274 | By Pat Romanski Consumer IoT applications provide data about the user that just doesn’t exist in traditional PC or mobile web applications. This rich data, or “context,” enables the highly personalized consumer experiences that characterize many consumer IoT apps. This same data is also providing brands with unprecedented insight into how their connected products are being used, while, at the same time, powering highly targeted engagement and marketing opportunities.

Do you use a name, or do you greet a friend by the last four digits of his social security number? Assuming you don’t, why are we content to associate our identity with 10 random digits assigned by our phone company? Identity is an issue that affects everyone, but as individuals we don’t spend a lot of time thinking about it.
In his session at @ThingsExpo, Ben Klang, Founder & President of Mojo Lingo, discussed the impact of technology on identity. Sh... Jan. 15, 2016 06:15 AM EST Reads: 288 | By Liz McMillan WebRTC has had a real tough three or four years, and so have those working with it. Only a few short years ago, the development world were excited about WebRTC and proclaiming how awesome it was.
You might have played with the technology a couple of years ago, only to find the extra infrastructure requirements were painful to implement and poorly documented. This probably left a bitter taste in your mouth, especially when things went wrong. Jan. 15, 2016 06:00 AM EST Reads: 186 | By Liz McMillan Learn how IoT, cloud, social networks and last but not least, humans, can be integrated into a seamless integration of cooperative organisms both cybernetic and biological. This has been enabled by recent advances in IoT device capabilities, messaging frameworks, presence and collaboration services, where devices can share information and make independent and human assisted decisions based upon social status from other entities.

Jan. 15, 2016 05:00 AM EST Reads: 411 | By Pat Romanski Contrary to mainstream media attention, the multiple possibilities of how consumer IoT will transform our everyday lives aren’t the only angle of this headline-gaining trend. There’s a huge opportunity for “industrial IoT” and “Smart Cities” to impact the world in the same capacity – especially during critical situations. For example, a community water dam that needs to release water can leverage embedded critical communications logic to alert the appropriate individuals, on the right device, as... Jan. 15, 2016 02:00 AM EST Reads: 700 | By Pat Romanski Manufacturing connected IoT versions of traditional products requires more than multiple deep technology skills. It also requires a shift in mindset, to realize that connected, sensor-enabled “things” act more like services than what we usually think of as products.
In his session at @ThingsExpo, David Friedman, CEO and co-founder of Ayla Networks, discussed how when sensors start generating detailed real-world data about products and how they’re being used, smart manufacturers can use the dat... Jan. 15, 2016 12:00 AM EST Reads: 200 | By Elizabeth White For manufacturers, the Internet of Things (IoT) represents a jumping-off point for innovation, jobs, and revenue creation. But to adequately seize the opportunity, manufacturers must design devices that are interconnected, can continually sense their environment and process huge amounts of data.
As a first step, manufacturers must embrace a new product development ecosystem in order to support these products. Jan. 14, 2016 10:00 PM EST Reads: 149 | By Elizabeth White With the exponential growth of network traffic slowing down data transmission, companies are looking for solutions. Recently, a solution has emerged that can help improve your data speed with data centers on the edge. These micro data center solutions can simplify the lives of many data center owners and operators because they are self-contained, secure computing environments, assembled in a factory and shipped in one enclosure which includes all the necessary power, cooling, security, and manag... Jan. 14, 2016 07:00 PM EST Reads: 422 | By Elizabeth White The Internet of Things (IoT), in all its myriad manifestations, has great potential. Much of that potential comes from the evolving data management and analytic (DMA) technologies and processes that allow us to gain insight from all of the IoT data that can be generated and gathered. This potential may never be met as those data sets are tied to specific industry verticals and single markets, with no clear way to use IoT data and sensor analytics to fulfill the hype being given the IoT today. Jan. 14, 2016 06:30 PM EST Reads: 718 | By Elizabeth White The Internet of Things is in the early stages of mainstream deployment but it promises to unlock value and rapidly transform how organizations manage, operationalize, and monetize their assets. IoT is a complex structure of hardware, sensors, applications, analytics and devices that need to be able to communicate geographically and across all functions. Once the data is collected from numerous endpoints, the challenge then becomes converting it into actionable insight.
