DevOps Summit at Cloud Expo 2014 Silicon Valley was a terrific event for us.
The Qubell booth was crowded on all three days.
We ran demos every 30 minutes with folks lining up to get a seat and usually standing around. It was great to meet and talk to over 500 people!

My keynote was well received and so was Stan's joint presentation with RingCentral on Devops for BigData.
I also participated in two Power Panels - ‘Women in Technology' and ‘Why DevOps Is Even More Important than You Think,' both featuring brilliant colleagues and moderators and it was a blast to be a part of.
The Grid Dynamics folks were showcasing their technology called Agile Software Factory that pre-packages many popular open source technologies and tools into a fully integrated technology suite for continuous delivery pipeline, from code changes to production updates.
Qubell is used by the Agile Software Factory as the "logistics" engine to create dev/test/prod environments on-demand, as required by the release pipeline, and automate updates, upgrades and auto-recycling of used up environments.

Here are the links to the content of the keynote, panels and sessions posted so far:

Companies that were not previously in the technology space now find themselves competing with Google and Amazon on the speed of innovation. As the innovation cycle accelerates, companies must embrace rapid and constant
change to both applications and their infrastructure, and find a way to deliver speed and agility of development without sacrificing reliability or efficiency of operations. In her Keynote at DevOps Summit Silicon Valley, Victoria Livschitz, CEO of Qubell, discussed how IT organizations can automate just-in-time assembly of application environments - each built for a specific purpose with the right infrastructure, components, service, data and tools - and deliver this automation to developers as a self-service. Victoria's keynote included remarks by Kira Makagon, EVP of Innovation at RingCentral, and Ratnakar Lavu, EVP of Digital Technology at Kohl's.

By AppDynamics Blog Today’s connected world is moving from devices towards things, what this means is that by using increasingly low cost sensors embedded in devices we can create many new use cases. These span across use cases in cities, vehicles, home, offices, factories, retail environments, worksites, health, logistics, and health. These use cases rely on ubiquitous connectivity and generate massive amounts of data at scale. These technologies enable new business opportunities, ways to optimize and automate, along with new ways to engage with users.Oct. 15, 2015 09:00 PM EDT Reads: 339 |

By Liz McMillan The Internet of Things (IoT), in all its myriad manifestations, has great potential. Much of that potential comes from the evolving data management and analytic (DMA) technologies and processes that allow us to gain insight from all of the IoT data that can be generated and gathered. This potential may never be met as those data sets are tied to specific industry verticals and single markets, with no clear way to use IoT data and sensor analytics to fulfill the hype being given the IoT today. Whatever happened to those intelligent fridges we were promised? The ones that would send you a message telling you to order more oranges, or notify your online retailer to deliver more dairy. Those clever fridges were the most talked about example of how the ‘Internet of Things' (IoT) was meant to transform our lives. But they never quite arrived.
Is the IoT myth or reality? And if it is reality, what impact is it likely to have on our everyday lives? And why does business automation hold the key to IoT success in your organization? It's time to find out.
If the calibration engineer does the calibration incorrectly – or a malefactor intentionally introduces a miscalibration – then the end result would be off. Every time. Even though there was nothing wrong with the sensor data, no security breach between the sensor and emissions device, and furthermore, every line of code in the device was completely correct.
In fact, the only way to detect a calibration attack is by running an independent analog test. In other words, someone would have to get their own exhaust particulate measuring device and run tests on real vehicles to see if the emissio...
Your Node.js application may be utilizing a backend database, a caching layer, or possibly even a queue server as it offloads CPU intensive tasks onto worker servers to process in the background. Whatever the backend your Node.js application interfaces with, the latency to these backend services can potentially affect the performance of your Node.js application performance, even if you’re interfacing with them asynchronously. The various types of exit calls may include:
CodeBug is a cute, programmable and wearable device designed to introduce simple programming and electronic concepts to anyone, at any age. It is easy to program CodeBug using the online interface, which features colourful drag and drop blocks, an in-browser emulator and engaging community features. I have three words for everyone in software testing: prioritize, prioritize, and prioritize. You can't test every possible permutation of your software, especially so with APIs and IoT devices where you're placing much of the user experience in the hands of integrators to your core products and services. You just can't, so we should throw our hands up now and just give up, right?
People, process, and technology has become a mantra within the world of DevOps proponents and practitioners, and it can easily be applied to the whole of cloud computing and all that it entails. Our DevOps Summit Chair Andi Mann led a panel discussion on the topic.
Meanwhile, I led a technical discussion on aspects of the IoT with a panelist who went so far as to say the nascent M2M (machine-to-machine) IoT sector-which promises to reform the entire global $11 trillion manufacturing sector-will not be successful without the idea of M2M2H, the H standing for "humans."
Memory leaks can be a serious problem in Node.js, potentially affecting the performance of your Node apps. Although it might look like a predicament in the back-end is causing the application to fail, the real source of a bug could be a Node.js memory leak. It’s important to understand what memory leaks are, why they occur, and how to detect and solve memory leaks in Node.js, to get ultimately to the bottom of fixing memory leaks.
The concept behind the Internet of Things has been around for a while now, ATMs being some of the first enterprise, hardened, network-connected, managed devices for mainstream consumer use. So too with our mobile phones, these are not new concepts to network technicians or hardware geeks. But for the rest of us, we simply never imagined the extents that the "ubiquity of connectedness" would take all other industries, from biotech to automotive, personal care to agriculture, entertainment to custom manufacturing. The list is as long as our imaginations.
Both Lightning and Thunder jolted the audience out of their seats at this week’s massive Dreamforce conference. But the news wasn’t about the weather. It was all about two major platform announcements by customer relationship management leader Salesforce.
Lightning is a collection of components and tools for building better applications with updated, modern user interfaces. Yet, just like its namesake, Lightning provides both flash and power, as Salesforce is gradually rewriting their Salesforce1 platform with Lightning components. Lightning, therefore, will be powering apps from Salesforce...
