Taking Cloud Databases to the Edge
Database apps on mobile devices shouldn't stop working when there's limited
or no network connectivity.
In his session at 16th Cloud Expo, Bradley Holt, a Developer Advocate for IBM
Cloudant, discussed how to bring data stored in a cloud database to the edge
of the network (and back again), whenever an Internet connection is
available.
He demonstrated techniques for replicating cloud databases with mobile
devices in order to build offline-enabled mobile apps that can provide a
better, faster user experience, both offline and online. The focus of this
talk was on Apache CouchDB and related open source tools and open standards.

Defining Web 3.0 and Developing the Fastest Enterprise Mobility Apps
I value a strong opinion. Especially when the opinionated is an expert and
willing to stand up and place a flag in the sand. In this article, my
ambitious friend, programming guru, gamer, colleague, bona fide geek and
mobility expert Peter Rogers shares his opinions on the meaning of Web 3.0
and how it will impact mobile application development and the enterprise.
While he is English and prone to use words like whilst, that should not be

What a beautifully naive question that my son, Trevor, asked me during a
son-dad conversation about how games might change over the years.
Earlier last year, Mattel’s CEO, Bryan Stockton, was fired. After three
years, it was clear that Mattel was continuing to be challenged with sales
weakness, and lower gross margins, which drove down shareholder value.
As parents, we ALL know that it’s a very competitive toy aisle, and our
kids are much different than we were at their age.

@CloudExpo Stories By Liz McMillan With SaaS use rampant across organizations, how can IT departments track company data and maintain security? More and more departments are commissioning their own solutions and bypassing IT. A cloud environment is amorphous and powerful, allowing you to set up solutions for all of your user needs: document sharing and collaboration, mobile access, e-mail, even industry-specific applications.

Heralded as the 'next big thing,' containers provide software owners a consistent way to package their software and dependencies while infrastructure operators benefit from a standard way to deploy and run them.
