NuoDB is all about getting customrs to the cloud. It describes itself as offering "a distributed database offering a rich SQL implementation (that is) designed for the modern datacenter, and as a scale-out cloud database." We talked to company CTO Seth Proctor (pictured below), who is also on the faculty of @CloudExpo, about the challenges the company faces in its quest. Cloud Storage Goes Local for SANs & NAS | @CloudExpo

New local cloud services for co-location customers in 17 markets has been announced by 365 Data Centers. The new service supports customers' NAS and SAN storage architectures, and is aimed at everything from clustered databases and Big Data analytics to archiving and disaster recovery. BlueData CEO: "We're Democratizing Big Data" | @BigDataExpo [#BigData]

BlueData aims to "democratize Big Data" with its launch of EPIC Enterprise, which it calls "the industry's first Big Data software to enable enterprises to create a self-service cloud experience on premise," according to company CEO Kumar Sreekanti This self-service private cloud allows enterprises to create 100-node Hadoop and Spark clusters in less than 10 minutes.
