Is Orchestration the Next Big Thing in DevOps?

At DevOps Summit, GigaSpaces CTO Nati Shalom will walk through specific DevOps workflows using Riemann as the framework

DevOps Summit Savings here!

DevOps processes (such as continuous deployment and delivery) often involve writing many custom scripts that are triggered by the build system. With that approach, it is relatively hard to trace the deployment process and troubleshoot when something goes wrong. Additionally, custom scripts are often not written in an easily understood manner.

In his session at 2nd DevOps Summit, Nati Shalom, Founder and CTO at GigaSpaces, will walk through specific DevOps workflows (such as install, update, etc.) using Riemann as the framework in subject and see the steps required to automate those processes. He will also discuss how Cloudify uses Riemann to provide simple execution and monitoring of those workflow processes. He will share how one customer, PaddyPower, was able to leverage Cloudify to transition their traditional IT into a DevOps environment, bridging the gap between Dev and Ops.

Over the last few years the healthcare ecosystem has revolved around innovations in Electronic Health Record (HER) based systems. This evolution has helped us achieve much desired interoperability. Now the focus is shifting to other equally important aspects – scalability and performance. While applying cloud computing environments to the EHR systems, a special consideration needs to be given to the cloud enablement of Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA), i.e., the largest single medical system in the United States.
Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs) are increasing at an unprecedented rate. The threat landscape of today is drastically different than just a few years ago. Attacks are much more organized and sophisticated. They are harder to detect and even harder to anticipate. In the foreseeable future it’s going to get a whole lot harder. Everything you know today will change. Keeping up with this changing landscape is already a daunting task. Your organization needs to use the latest tools, methods and expertise to guard against those threats. But will that be enough? In the foreseeable future attacks will originate from entirely new attack platforms. The tools and methods you use today will not protect you from the threats you will face tomorrow. Your security experts will be no match for this new threat. Where will these attacks come from? It isn’t where you think.
