Amcom Software, Inc. today welcomed leaders from hospitals and health systems to its annual user conference, Connect 13. During the three-day event healthcare representatives will participate in detailed discussions about critical communications and workflow solutions that improve patient care and safety as well as provider efficiency and satisfaction. The conference agenda features numerous customer case studies, panel discussions, product demonstrations, and training sessions. Discussion topics include HIPAA-compliant texting, Joint Commission compliance, and the latest trends in mobile communications.
The conference opened this morning with remarks from Vincent Kelly, president and CEO of Amcom’s parent company, USA Mobility, Inc. and Amcom President Colin Balmforth, who gave attendees a brief preview of several pending product releases and talked about the growing demand for enterprise-wide, integrated communications. Morning highlights also included a popular case study of Inova Health System, a long-time customer that relies on Amcom solutions in both clinical and call center settings to improve the way physicians and others effectively coordinate care for patients.
HIPAA-compliant texting is an increasingly popular topic among Amcom customers. As a result, many conference sessions will focus on how leading hospitals are implementing and using the Mobile Connect, Powered by Amcom™ app. Beyond just protecting patient health information sent via smartphones and other mobile devices, these organizations are now able to link the app to their existing Amcom directory and on-call schedule information for fast access to the right person. Other topics expected to receive extensive discussion are new releases of such Amcom solutions as clinical alerting and call center optimization.
“Our user conference is an excellent forum for us to exchange information and ideas with many of our key customers,” said Kelly. “We enjoy the informal interaction with them and receiving their feedback. In addition, these face-to-face meetings are invaluable in suggesting improvements in the way we develop, deliver, and support our solutions.”
Additional updates from the conference will be posted to Amcom’s Mobility in Healthcare blog, Twitter, and Facebook pages.
