Cloud Computing: Holland Strongly Represented at Cloud Expo 2011 New York

Eight companies that can bridge the US and European cloud computing industry

Holland is considered one, if not the most important data exchange point for the European continent. Unlocking the $16,228.23 billion EU economy (2010) and over half a billion people. To showcase what Holland and the Dutch Cloud Computing Industry have to offer, the Dutch government invited eight selected companies with international experience and ambition to present their software and services at the Holland Pavilion during the Cloud Expo in New York.

If you mention Dutch Clouds your first thought might be of old Masterpieces by Vermeer or van Ruysdael. Thick smudges of grays culminating in impressive skies over a neatly cultivated flat countryside.

Cloudy skies are still part of the distinct features of this Kingdom by the sea, but the green acres and tulips have been effectively ploughed to become test beds for high performance IT solutions.

For example the Amsterdam Internet Exchange (AMS-IX) is the second largest Internet exchange in the world creating a unique ecosystem that drives innovation and development.

The staggering level of affordable broadband and mobile connectivity has indeed drastically changed life and economy in Holland. And with a traditional outward look on business and trade, mentioning Cloud will probably have the highly educated and often multilingual population grab their web-connected mobile devices. Moving services, data, platforms and storage from the device into the cloud.

In this innovative market many Dutch companies have developed high-end services and proprietary software ready for the transatlantic market. Eight of these companies will showcase their software and services at the Cloud Computing Expo in New York from June 6-9 at the Holland Pavilion.

The wide variety of propositions by these eight companies only underlines the maturity of the Dutch market, offering solutions for every aspect to successfully make the transition towards cloud solutions.

The eight exhibiting companies at the Holland Pavilion are: IS , OmNext , NetYce , EvoSwitch , Stealth Software , CloudProvider, REELEEZEE and NETDIALOG. Also at the Pavilion a representative from the EuroCloud Netherlands foundation and from Deloitte Netherlands Fast50 to supply general information on the Dutch Cloud Industry.
