AIM, the industry association recognized as the worldwide authority on automatic identification and mobility, has announced the election of Chuck Evanhoe, president, Evanhoe & Associates, as the new chairman of the AIM, Inc. board of directors. Evanhoe succeeds Dr. Clive Hohberger.
As chairman, Evanhoe and the AIM, Inc. board of directors provide the Association with the leadership, guidance, and direction to successfully fulfill its global mission of:
- Advocating on behalf of its members on policy matters and standards affecting the bar code, RFID and mobile computing industry;
- Educating by providing timely, unbiased and commercial-free news and information to its members, the news media, policy makers, and current and potential customers of automatic identification and mobility technologies;
- Demonstrating mature solutions within the framework of AIM Expo, the annual conference and exposition for providers, users and integrators of auto ID and mobile IT solutions; and
- Accelerating the adoption and use of data capture and mobility technology.
The AIM board chairman serves a one-year term, and is then succeeded by the vice chairman the following year.
“As chairman, my goal is to connect the global AIDC community by providing leadership for standards and education efforts needed for economic competitiveness within our industry,” states Evanhoe. “I will continue working to grow AIM’s global reputation as a technology thought leader and the ‘go to’ organization for the industry.”
“Chuck has been tireless in his efforts to develop the collaborative environment that not only strengthens the industry, but also provides a climate ripe for emerging technologies and innovation,” stated outgoing chairman, Clive Hohberger. “As Chairman, he is superbly qualified to lead the AIM organization into new areas of opportunity around the world.”
Evanhoe currently serves as chairman for the AIM Expo. He is a charter member of the UID Suppliers Alliance (USA), the past chairman for AIM North America, and a contributing member of AIM’s RFID Experts Group (REG) and Technical Symbology Committee (TSC).
