New forecasts from ABI Research indicate that in 2015 about 244 million
people worldwide will carry out financial transactions using their mobile
phones. This growth in the financial cell phone sector is not specific to
North America or Europe, and large investment is anticipated in regions like
Latin America.
Latin American infrastructure is a drawback; only about 33 percent of the
population has access to formal financial services. But 80 percent have
access to mobile phones, which presents a significant opportunity for
extending financial services to millions of low-income customers in the
region.
To support this, last month, IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, invested
US$3 million for Panama’s YellowPepper plus $2 million to help mobilization
for the mobile financial solutions company, in an effort to expand mobile

Motorola has countersued Microsoft in Florida and Wisconsin in answer to
Microsoft's first suit of six weeks ago charging Moto's Android widgets with
treading on nine of its patents.
Upping the ante, Motorola claims that Microsoft's PC and server software,
Windows mobile software and Xbox products infringe 16 of its patents relating
to the Windows operating system, digital video codecs, e-mail including
Exchange, Messenger and Outlook, Windows Live instant messaging,
object-oriented software architecture, Bing maps, Windows Marketplace, Wi-Fi
and graphical passwords.

I thought I would take a few minutes and think of what new features and
directions the next iPhone and its supporting iOS could take. Now this is a
little harder after what the iPhone 4 and iOS 4 has brought to the table and
that we are only just using them both, but I will take a shot.
With the new Apple Data Center I think that Cloud Computing will be more
apparent for a iPhone 5 device. I believe that we will see as near as to a
zero configuration device as we could hope for, based around MobileMe

Microsoft Tuesday sued Motorola for the second time in less than six weeks.
The first time it charged Motorola's Android smartphones with infringing its
patents. This time it's accusing Moto of price gouging.
It claims the royalties Motorola wants for patent licenses covering wireless
networking and video-codec widgetry used in Microsoft's Xbox game console,
its shiny new make-or-break Windows 7 phones and Windows 7 itself aren't
based on fair, reasonable and non-discriminatory terms and conditions (RAND).

Even during Cloud Expo, we reach more people by Twitter than the announcements we make through loudspeakers in the convention centers.
I would love to contact the people who are conducting this survey and ask them if any company answered their first question as "don't really consider it."

Cloud computing overlaps some of the concepts of distributed, grid and utility computing, however it does have its own meaning if contextually used correctly. The conceptual overlap is partly due to technology changes, usages and implementations over the years.
Trends in usage of the terms from Google searches shows Cloud Computing is a relatively new term introduced in the past year. There has also been a decline in general interest of Grid, Utility and Distributed computing.
Likely they will be around in usage for quit a while to come.
