Intel and AMD will be warding off server competition from ARM a year from now
according to what ARM Holdings CEO Warren East told EE Times the other day.
Multi-core ARM processors closing in on 2GHz are reportedly being designed
with high-speed communication interfaces to create more energy-efficient
server farms, he said. The paper stumbled across a want ad posted by
Microsoft that it said "seems to imply" it could be looking to put ARM-based
servers under Bing where it's definitely looking to keep a lid on power

Deep packet inspection is useless when you’re talking about applications
Back in the early days of networking (when the pipes were small and dumb) the
concept of “Deep Packet Inspection” started to bubble up the network
stack. Deep Packet Inspection describes the ability of a networking device to
fully inspect an Ethernet packet; essentially it’s the ability to examine
the data in the payload that’s actually being transported across the
