Collaboration at Cloud Expo
IBM opened a new Hong Kong Cloud Computing Laboratory to support LotusLive
cloud services. With more than 18 million client seats in its first year, IBM
has established an elite team of experts to meet the demand of cloud-based
collaboration services.
The news marks IBM's tenth cloud computing lab and the first lab of any major
information technology vendor in Hong Kong.
The new center serves as a world class development facility for Web 2.0,
cloud mail and collaboration for businesses of all sizes around the globe.
Key to IBM's development efforts worldwide for public cloud collaboration
services, the lab will support the dramatic growth of cloud collaboration by

Symantec Session at Cloud Expo
Symantec announced it is offering its next-generation security and
enterprise-class storage management solutions through the Amazon Elastic
Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2).
Symantec Endpoint Protection and Veritas Storage Foundation Basic are now
available on Amazon EC2.
Businesses can leverage the Symantec solutions to add additional protection

Oracle Keynote at Cloud Expo 2010
"We've been fairly quiet," said Rex Wang, VP of Infrastructure and Management
at Oracle, as he gave the Morning Keynote at the Cloud Expo at the Santa
Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, CA.
Wang was referring to Oracle's relative silence to date vis-a-vis Cloud

SAP Session at Cloud Expo
Royal Philips Electronics, a world leader in healthcare, lifestyle and
lighting, and T-Systems have signed a contract in Amsterdam for global data
center and SAP infrastructure services.
The service model for the contract involves 'cloud computing': T-Systems will
provide services for Philips via a 'private cloud', a separate, secure
network.

Conference News & Updates  By Carmen Gonzalez SYS-CON Events announced today that the 5th International Cloud Computing Conference & Expo will take place April 19-21, 2010, at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City. The three-day event will offer a rich array of sessions led by exceptional speakers about the business and technical value of cloud computing with more than 80 sponsors and exhibitors on the 70,000 sq. ft. show floor and over 5,000 estimated delegates from well over 48 different countries. More than 500 additional registrations came in over the weekend and on-site registrations, which brought the number of delegates who registered and attended for the conference to roughly 2,250, more than double a year ago. For the first couple years, technology-related conferences are attended by engineers and operations people.
