Sun Microsystems, Inc. (NASDAQ:JAVA) today announced the Internet availability of proxy materials for its 2009 Annual Meeting of Stockholders under the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's Notice and Access rule. Sun's proxy materials can now be found on the Company's investor relations website at http://www.sun.com/investors.
Sun's 2009 annual report on Form 10-K and proxy statement have been filed with the SEC, and may be viewed on Sun's website at http://www.sun.com/investors. Under the SEC Notice & Access rule, Sun's stockholders may obtain printed copies of Sun's proxy materials free of charge by following the instructions provided on the company's website or in the “Notice of Internet Availability of Proxy Materials”.
The Sun Microsystems 2009 Annual Meeting of Stockholders will be held on Thursday, December 17, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. (PT) at Sun's Santa Clara Campus, located at 4030 George Sellon Circle, Santa Clara, California 95054. If the proposed merger with Oracle Corporation is consummated prior to December 17, 2009, Sun will no longer have public stockholders and, therefore, the 2009 Annual Meeting of Stockholders will be cancelled.
Financial results for Sun's first quarter fiscal year 2010 are expected to be posted on http://sun.com/investors upon the filing of the Company's Form 10-Q with the Securities and Exchange Commission, which is due no later than November 6, 2009. Sun will not be hosting a conference call in conjunction with these quarterly results.
