For September, GM Canada again sold more vehicles than any competitor in Canada, delivering 23,778 vehicles. Calendar year-to-date, GM continues to be Canada's automotive sales leader.

"We are very pleased with the strong retail sales performance of GM's four core brands; Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick and GMC with sales of these core brands up 5.6% over the same time period last year," says Marc Comeau, GM of Canada's vice-president of sales, service and marketing. Comeau added, "Sales of the all-new 2010 Chevrolet Equinox continue to grow, reflected by the strong September performance. The new Equinox delivers segment-leading highway fuel efficiency, as well as outstanding safety features important to consumers. Additionally, the new GMC Terrain Crossover SUV is off to a great start in its first month of sales. Terrain, a new addition to the GMC family, also delivers segment-leading highway fuel economy. As a result, this month GM is reinstating the third shift and running maximum over-time at the CAMI plant in Ingersoll, Ontario where these vehicles are built."
