As predictably as night follows day, Hadoop co-creator Doug Cutting is leaving Yahoo bound for Hadoop commercializer Cloudera, which took in a $6 million second round in June to take Hadoop to the enterprise. According to Cloudera's blog he starts September 1 and will apparently continue working on the Avro data serialization sub-project. Hadoop's other founder Mike Cafarella is technically at Cloudera but only as a consultant since he'll start teaching computer science at the University of Michigan in December.
