DigiTimes said Tuesday that Asustek and Acer won’t have new netbooks this half because Intel’s Pine Trail-M Atom chip was late and won’t appear until Q1.
Intel begs to differ. It’s under the distinct impression the widget is on schedule and will ship for revenue this year.
Pine Trail is the one that integrate the graphics processor on the silicon sliver with the main processor, which also includes the memory controller.
Meanwhile, according to the New York Times, Intel is supposed to disclose more about programming its anticipated many-core GPGPU Larrabee chip at Siggraph in a few days.
The high-end widget is due out either late this year or early next to bedevil Nvidia and AMD.
