Day Software (SWX: DAYN, OTCQX: DYIHY), a leading provider of content management and content infrastructure software, today announced the general availability of its new Communiqué (CQ) 5.2 suite.
CQ 5.2 breaks new ground with new Social Collaboration (SoCo) and Digital Asset Management (DAM) applications that are seamlessly coupled with Day’s industry-leading Web Content Management (WCM) software. The applications leverage Day’s unified Enterprise Content Management (ECM) content infrastructure platform, CRX. An ECM industry first, Day Software now enables organizations to advance their social media marketing strategies with media-enriched, interactive online communities powered by CQ 5.2.
“Until now, no ECM or WCM system has provided support for DAM and SoCo, forcing Web development teams to bolt on needed Web 2.0 applications and capabilities as an add on – not a component of the main solution,” said David Nuescheler, chief technology officer for Day Software. “Any time you combine applications that were not designed for integration, the result is an integration and management nightmare, typically leading to higher costs, longer project development cycles, and poor end-user usability. Day’s CQ 5.2 addresses this critical pain point, making the process of managing your brand assets and incorporating community and social media features into their Web site simple and even fun.”
Day Software’s CQ 5.2 delivers interactive new tools for marketers that both enhance online collaboration and promote the brand. CQ 5.2 now includes drag-and-drop components for interactive marketers to enable user-self registration, profile management, commenting, ratings, tagging, discussions, and blogging to any Web page or Web site while maintaining full control with advanced CRX-powered moderation, access control, audit trails and more.
CQ 5.2 also provides out-of-the-box components for building wiki pages, enabling RSS feeds, sharing content, applications and social profile information with external social networks like Facebook and LinkedIn. For the first time, interactive marketers can build community and collaboration into their new and existing Web sites, without needing separate systems and micro-CMSes for their online community efforts.
Day Software’s CQ 5.2 adds enterprise-class DAM for interactive marketers to manage their brand assets along with rich publishing services to build Flickr-inspired brand-asset portals. Day Software’s CQ 5.2 DAM provides out-of-the-box lifecycle management services for digital assets, including ingestion, metadata extraction and generation, transformation and rendition management, and online or offline publishing.
With out-of-the-box support for popular tools, like Adobe Creative Suite, Day Software’s CQ 5.2 WCM graphics engine supports XMP metadata standard. It also integrates with, Day Software’s CQ 5.2 DAM enabling online marketers to seamlessly add DAM capabilities to their WCM platform, so that they can easily find and leverage brand assets in their online marketing efforts. New CQ 5.2 DAM Web components for both faceted navigation, advanced search, gallery, mosaic, and cover flow views make it easy to build a new brand portal into any Web site. Coupled with CQ 5.2 SoCo, online marketers now can build communities around their core brand assets to help drive viral online marketing promotions and campaigns.
“Day’s new CQ5.2 suite sets a new standard for the WCM and ECM industry by making it easy to add and support SoCo and DAM as an integral part of the Web publishing process. This current economy creates tremendous pressure for enterprises to operate more efficiently and effectively. With CQ 5.2, businesses can now take full advantage of digital media and social collaboration tools to fully engage end-users, technology decision makers and customers, increasing customer satisfaction and opening new market opportunities.”
