Parasoft Awarded Technology Patent for Validating Test Data

Generates comprehensive test cases

Parasoft Corporation has announced the award of their latest technology patent for validating test data. The patented technology, which is incorporated into Parasoft’s technology suite, strengthens regression test suites and enables development organizations to find the root cause of software errors.

“As systems evolve and become more complex, developers are more wary about making changes to the code,” stated Dr. Adam Kolawa, CEO of Parasoft Corporation. “This technology allows development organizations to compose a regression test suite that will automatically detect if changes in the code impact the behavior of the application. Overall, Parasoft technology can generate more comprehensive and better quality test cases.”

Parasoft Corporation was issued U.S. Patent No. 7,266,808 on Sept. 4, 2007. The invention relates to a “method and system for dynamically invoking and/or checking conditions of a computer test program. Test cases that verify class/component functionality are automatically created from the design by contract (DbC) contracts. When the classes/components that contain DbC contracts are added to the system, the invention automatically verifies whether the system uses them correctly. The information in the contract continents is used to generate more comprehensive and better quality test cases,” according to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.
