Speaking at the Real-World Java Seminar in New York City today, Tripod Technologies chief architect Reza Rahman shared with the audience in New York City's historic Roosevelt Hotel the results of an interesting comparative analysis between EJB3, Spring, and Hibernate carried out by him and his coauthor Debu Panda.
The talk was driven by realistic code examples and not a dogmatic lecture so that attendees to the one-day Real-World Java event were able to draw their own conclusions
"I've made every effort to make this presentation as neutral as possible," Rahman told SYS-CON.TV host Jeremy Geelan in an interview shortly before he began his session, "and have tried to ferret out the factors in choosing between these great technologies (or using them together) given your project requirements or development model."
It is essentially the set of parameters his company, Tripod Technologies, uses to decide what technology to recommend given a client project, Rahman added.
Rahman has been working with Java EE since its inception in the mid-nineties. He has developed enterprise systems in the publishing, financial, telecommunications and manufacturing industries. He has been fortunate to have worked with both EJB and Spring/Hibernate and is a frequent speaker at seminars, conferences and Java user groups. He also coordinates the Philadelphia JBoss User Group.
