Terracotta Adds Support for Hibernate and WebSphere in Terracotta 2.4

Terracotta, a provider of infrastructure software for enterprise Java high availability and scalability, has announced support for IBM’s WebSphere and WebSphere CE application servers, and Hibernate, a high-performance object/relational mapper. With these new capabilities, Terracotta can now be used to deliver scalability and availability for the vast majority of Java application architectures. Terracotta already supports JBoss Application Server, BEA WebLogic, Glassfish Application Server, Jetty, and Spring. Terracotta 2.4, the latest version of its open source software, offers IT organizations a lightweight approach to scalability that complements existing open source or proprietary infrastructures. Terracotta lowers costs and simplifies deployment by reducing development effort and easing the load on application servers and databases. With Terracotta 2.4, WebSphere and WebSphere CE users can replicate session state, build distributed caches, and coordinate application workflow using Terracotta’s high-performance object sharing technology. The new EHcache configuration module offers high-performance clustering for Hibernate 2nd Level Cache through the open source EHcache product.
