About: AjaxFTP is a drop-in FTP widget that you can use in Web 2.0 applications. It's modular, skinnable, and uses the Ruby on Rails Prototype JavaScript library for a seamless FTP browsing experience.
About: NeoMail is a web-based email client written in Perl. It provides access to a machine's local mail spools without requiring a POP3 server to be running, and without giving users shell access. It supports sending and receiving attachments, multiple folders, user themes and preferences, templates for interface generation, quotas, language translations, etc.
About: Workrave is a program that assists in the recovery and prevention of repetitive strain injury (RSI). The program frequently alerts you to take micro-pauses and rest breaks, and restricts you to your daily limit. It currently runs on GNU/Linux and Microsoft Windows (using GTK/Win32). Changes: A crash when using a third party GTK+ runtime has been fixed. A bug that caused status windows to be disabled when the micro-break timer was hidden has been fixed. There are translation fixes and better hibernate/standby support on Unix.
About: winfo is a small utility to display information about an access point and the wireless connection to the access point. Currently it is a console application and reports the MAC address of the access point, link quality, network name (BSSID), the network type (managed or ad-hoc), and displays a list of non-hidden networks within range. Changes: Compiled to a universal binary. No other changes have been made in this release.
About: Nagios (formerly Netsaint) is a daemon written in C that is designed to monitor networked hosts and services. It has the ability to notify contacts (via email, pager or other methods) when problems arise and are resolved. Host and service checks are performed by external "plugins", making it easy to write custom checks in your language of choice. Several CGIs are included in order to allow you to view the current and historical status via a Web browser, and a WAP interface is also provided to allow you to acknowlege problems and disable notifications from an internet-ready cellphone. Changes: Changes since 2.0rc2 include documentation updates and a fix for a segfault in the timed event queue.
About: OSS provides sound card drivers for most popular sound cards under Linux, *BSD, Solaris, UnixWare, OpenServer, AIX, HPUX, LynxOS, VxWorks, and Tru64. These drivers support digital audio, MIDI, synthesizers, and mixers found on sound cards. These sound drivers comply with the Open Sound System API specification. OSS provides a user-friendly GUI which makes the installation of sound drivers and configuration of sound cards very simple. It supports over 200 brand name sound cards, and provides automatic sound card detection, Plug-n-Play support, support for PCI audio soundcards, and support for full duplex audio. Changes: FreeBSD mmap and select problems have been fixed. Support for NVidia, ATI, and Intel ICH7/ICH8 based High Definition Audio controllers has been added. Support for SCO Open Server 6, FreeBSD 6.0-RELEASE for x86 and AMD-64, and NetBSD 3.0 (x86 only) has been added.
About: libmRSS is a C library for parsing, writing, and creating RSS (Rich Site Summary, Really Simple Syndication, and RDF Site Summary) files or streams. Changes: This release sends the encoding of the a RSS document with libnxml.
About: nXML is a C library for parsing, writing, and creating XML 1.0 and 1.1 files or streams. It supports UTF-8, UTF-16be and UTF-16le, UCS-4 (1234, 4321, 2143, 2312). Changes: Small bugfixes regarding the conversion of integers to UTF-8 strings.
About: USB Headset Buttons is a tool that enables volume control buttons on a Logitech USB 30 Headset or similar device. Changes: This release adds some logic to determine the input device and ALSA hardware number in the init.d script.
About: rpmstrap is a tool for bootstrapping a basic RPM-based system. It is inspired by debootstrap, and allows you to build chroots and basic systems from RPM sources. Changes: This release updates the sl402, centos3, and centos4 suite scripts. It adds suite script migration utilities. It adds functionality for rpmstrap to act as an RPM upgrade utility.
About: Web Performance Trainer is a load testing and stress testing tool for Web servers. Its statistical analysis takes your site's performance criteria, and determines the number of users your Web site can handle. Because data is collected at the URL level, it not only identifies slow Web pages, but identifies the particular part of the Web page that caused the problem. Web Performance Trainer includes hard-to-find features such as IP spoofing, client certificates, multiple simultaneous test cases, authentication, SSL recording and playback, automated analysis, and more. Changes: The support text has been updated to point to the Web Performance, Inc. support Web site, instead of email addresses. Recording has been changed to more accurately simulate an accurate recording by propagating some types of transmission errors to the user's browser, instead of displaying a friendly error message.
About: gloox is a portable high-level Jabber/XMPP library for C++. It is fully compliant with the XMPP RFCs, supports all of the XMPP features (including SRV lookups, TLS, SASL, roster management, and privacy lists), and implements several JEPs that make it ideal for writing any kind of Jabber/XMPP client or component. Changes: A maintenance release focusing on portability, documentation updates, and minor bugfixes.
About: libosgswt is a SWT component that allows you to display an OpenSceneGraph. It includes a stand-alone SWT component and an Eclipse plugin.
About: gpgm2srt is Perl script for the conversion of graphical DVD subtitles into SRT/SUB text subtitles. It contains its own OCR (Optical Character Recognition) algorithm mastering diacritics and italics, and is equipped with a graphical interface. It can also manipulate SRT text subtitles (time corrections and shift, etc.). It requires the Perl-Tk interpreter, libnetpbm9, transcode, and optionally other binaries.
About: KDEVisualBoyAdvance is a front-end for VisualBoy Advance. It is based on other front-ends such as kvba, qtvba, and vbaexpress. Changes: Reads the header of every ROM.
About: Wormux is a free clone of Worms, playable with two players. It provides a wide variety of team skins and maps. Changes: The project has been ported to SDL and a new graphical engine has been developed (now most configurations have 50 FPS). The use of a new physical engine allows the creation of a ninja rope and jet pack. An explosive gnu and an airhammer have also been added. The graphical quality of the game is better. It works on PowerPC and AMD-64, and packages for a lot of Linux distributions, FreeBSD, and Windows are available. Thanks to Unicode and TTF, it's possible to display any character (eg. play in Russian). There is also a new Web site.
About: Zimbra is a server and client technology for next-generation enterprise messaging and collaboration (email, group calendar, contacts, etc). It features a browser-based AJAX client with search, shared calendar, and mail that is integrated with contacts and calendar, and support for Outlook, iCal, App.Mail, contacts, and offline mode. Administrators benefit from online move, back-up, and recovery of individual or groups of mailboxes, compatibility with existing LDAP directories., native hierarchical storage management and clustering, Web services integration with existing enterprise applications, and integrated anti-spam and anti-virus. Changes: This release includes a number of quality improvements to support GA, but also includes some new features including three new Zimlets: Wikipedia, Search, and Amazon.
About: ffGallery is a simple, customizable Web photo gallery which uses the SAJAX toolkit and CSS to present the user with a snazzy interface. Changes: ffGallery now has automatic thumbnail generation and an administration feature for adding/changing image title and description information.
About: tk_cdconverter is a small GUI frontend that helps you rip a CD into a directory, convert the resulting WAV files into MP3 or Org Vorbis format, and set some tags. Changes: A bug that occurred if no language was set by your system (e.g. NetBSD) has been fixed. A bug when the sort order of the files in the tag tool is wrong has been fixed.
About: The "Virtual Universe" is a 3D cyberspace which offers more possibilities than just chat: it is a combination of the Web, chat, and instant messaging within a realistic, three-dimensional cyberspace. Here people can meet, interact with each other, and build houses and whole worlds. The "Virtual Universe" is a virtual reality environment which runs on top of the Internet. Changes: Bugs have been fixed in COB-loader (geometry and texture related) and in KeyNavigator (collision detection has been improved). The contained API is now in a nearly finished state, and the current API version is a first release candidate.
About: getmail is intended as a simple, secure, and reliable replacement for fetchmail. It retrieves email (either all messages, or only unread messages) from one or more POP3, SPDS, or IMAP4 servers (with or without SSL) for one or more email accounts, and reliably delivers into qmail-style Maildirs, mboxrd files, or through external MDAs (command deliveries) specified on a per-account basis. getmail also has excellent support for domain (multidrop) mailboxes, including delivering messages to different users or destinations based on the envelope recipient address. Changes: An IMAP bug where no mail was retrieved introduced in 4.5.0 has been fixed.
About: enotes is a small GNU Emacs script to handle appointments. It stores a list of notes, each with a title, a date, a warning date, and optionally a long description and a reference file. A window pops up when a warning time is reached. It is simple (more than calendar and others), yet reliable and very practical. Changes: Minor features such as the ability to move the event/warning by one hour in the future with one keystroke. One visible change is the ability to add a colored flags for each event.
About: Arudius is a live CD Linux distribution based on Slackware (Minislack/Zenwalk) and Linux Live scripts. It contains an extensive set of software tools used by information security professionals for information assurance and vulnerability analysis. Its goal is to include the most complete set of useful security tools and still maintain a small footprint so it can fit on a 210MB mini-CD. Changes: This release features the addition of some novel security tools: tools for passive network discovery by analyzing broadcast traffic, very fast SMB password cracking tool, a UPnP device discovery tool analyzing M-SEARCH packets, and a few others.
About: Torta shows you where your disk space is going. It uses the graphical format used by filelight to represent disk usage. Unlike filelight, it can be run on a computer with no graphical environment: it generates a Flash file that can be consulted, locally or remotely, using any browser that has the Flash plugin installed.
