Sequoia 2.6
The Sequoia database clustering project development team have announced the release of version 2.6 with major enhancements. "Along with a large number of fixes, this release brings a lot of new features such as transparent user management, support for foreign keys, parallel recovery properly scheduling queries to respect foreign key constraints, support for transparent failover with automatic retrieval of last results on write requests, commit, and rollback. Support has been added for automatic recovery log resync. Some new experimental features include semantic support for stored procedures."

JBoss has announced the release of JBoss Mail Server M4-pre1. "This release is our first pre release of the next milestone. It has undergone dramatic internal improvement from the M3 release. This release includes (among other things) these major features: Virtual Hosts, Aliases, SMTP Relaying (via mail routes), APOP, TLS for POP, and numerous additions to the installer."

Enhydra XMLC 2.2.8
The Enhydra XMLC development team have announced the release of version 2.2.8. "Better character encoding detection, along with proper detection, and handling, of BOM markers. HTML/Lazy/XHTML DOMs have been synced with the latest HTML DOM Impl sources from Xerces2, and the XHTML DOM is compatible with existing HTML DOM usage. A FIXME item has been addressed. BaseCmdOptions have been removed. Generated classes and interfaces now have no more imports than necessary. Warnings in Eclipse 3.1 have been reduced. This release has been updated to ASM-2.2.1."

JBoss has announced the release of JBoss EJB 3.0 RC4 - PFD. "This is a major release with over 68 tasks complete. We are about 99% compliant with the EJB 3.0 Proposed Final Draft and a lot of major and minor bugs have been fixed... A lot has changed in this release both in the specification and the way JBoss implements EJB 3.0. Check out the EJB 3.0 WIKI for details on how to migrate from an older version of JBoss EJB 3.0. It is going to be an annoying process to migrate because of all the minor annoying little changes here and there, but please have patience. Java SOS 4.70
The Java SOS project has released version 4.70 with added enhancements. "New components were added, such as an HTTP proxy servlet. The code base and feature list were updated for the existing components."

The Kettle data management project has released version 2.2.2. "This version fixes all verified reported bugs (24 fixes since 2.2.0) and implements many new features and enhancements.
There is a lot of new functionality to be found: XML input, XML output, Denormaliser, Flattener, Mappings, Constants and the HTTP job entry.
In total Kettle now has 44 available step types, 11 job entry types and 19 supported databases.
We also enhanced a number of steps: text file input (paged layouts, wrapped lines, ...), encoding support for text files, and many other things.
The documentation is also completely updated."

GeoTools 2.1.1
The GeoTools project has released version 2.1.1. "The uDig and GeoServer projects have been driving continuous
bug fixes on the 2.1.x branch. The result is a very stable 2.1.1 release.

Ivy 1.3-RC1
Jayasoft has announced the release of version 1.3-RC1 of their Ivy dependency manager application. It includes an imporoved default resolver for dependencies, easier configuration, new features for creating repositories, maven 2 pom support, and more.

And of course there are a flurry of bug fixes, fewer false positives, and performance improvements."

Three bugfixes and a couple of small functionality changes were made."

Omar Tazi has announced that Oracle has open sourced its UI components of JSF called Oracle ASF. "I am pleased to announce that Oracle is contributing a rich set of UI components based on the JavaServer Faces specification to the Apache Software Foundation under the Apache 2.0 license. The donation was originally part of Oracle ADF. What it will be called in the future is yet to be determined by the Apache MyFaces community."

"A few important new features, including an expanded JDBC connection pool (with keep-alive queries and block-and-retry behaviour when the pool has been exhausted), name-based virtual hosting, Apache-style customizable access logging, and an all-in-one jar file container + Web app deployment option.
