A GUI Library For Lisp On OS X
In this post, Christopher introduces the Ltk GUI Library from Peter Herth. This is a pure Lisp bridge between the Lisp programming language and the Tk GUI toolkit that allows Lispniks to create GUI-based applications that will work nicely with Mac OS X as well as any other platform upon which Lisp and Tk can be found.

Apple and the Art of Podcasting
My recent cover story for Electronic Musician magazine, "The Art of Podcasting," is now online for free. Apple was pretty tight-lipped when I was writing it, though, which made me wonder: What podcasting surprises does the company have up its sleeve?

East Coast Mac User's Lament
With all of Apple-dom counting down to next Tuesday at 9am, Pacific time, rumors sites among others are churning out predictions that this may be another home run for Apple. But the only people who get to see it are those who can get to San Francisco and shell out hundreds of dollars. What's an East Coast guy like me supposed to do?

Palm Treo 700w running Windows Mobile 5 is here!
The eagerly anticipated Palm Treo 700w Pocket PC Phone Edition is available through Verizon Wireless.
Although there are other Phone Edition and Smartphone devices based on Windows Mobile 5, the great Treo form factor and unique Palm touches to the Windows Mobile interface will attract a lot of current Windows Mobile device users (and maybe even a few Palm OS users).

Returning to Desktop Linux Again
For years I have had an on-again/off-again relationship with desktop linux. My old flame: Debian running fvwm. Over the years, however, we have both changed. Where I used to enjoy tinkering, I am now impatient and want things to 'just work.' Desktop linux has thankfully developed along these lines. Goodbye, stock Debian and fvwm. Hello Ubuntu and KDE (Kubuntu).

Vista Gets Real
I've just installed the latest Vista build, and I'm pleased to report that it's finally real. Builds up until now have been flaky, and to a great extent not particularly functional. But this one is the real McCoy.

Nessus 3.0 on Ubuntu 5.10 (Breezy)
I for one have no particular problems with the fact that Nessus has gone to a closed source model from version 3, with the exception that this means I can’t run Nessus on some of my platforms of choice (ie, Gentoo Linux). However, since a package is available for Debian 3.x, I wondered if it would work on Ubuntu.

"Windows Live!, as..."?
I a recent post to his personal blog Dare Obasanjo took the liberty to add a '!' to the end of Windows Live. In checking the Windows Live site to make sure I was correct in my assumption... there is no '!' at the end of the Windows Live logo... at least not yet. This is pure speculation and meant only in fun... I have no insider information nor am I stating with absolute certainty that my conclusion are an absolute. This is just meant in fun... If it turns out to be true, it will have been by total accident. That said... here's my interpretation of what COULD be one of MANY possibilities...
