Developers for the Java Flash Player JFlash wanted

The goal of the project JFlash is to offer playing functionality for Macromedia Flash animations. All other solutions that are out there do not work and/or cost really much money. Beside of that there is no working version that does not use native (Windows-)libraries - so all these solutions are useless for Java developers.

Currently the project JFlash can offer:
  • - a working code base that supports flash files up to version 3
  • - newer flash file versions are supported partially
  • - an own webpage (uh, at dev.java.net ;-)
  • - an own project domain http://www.jflash.org
We are looking for people that are interested in taking part at the development of that player library. Skills in Java graphics (Java2D) and experiences in file formats would be nice.

Skills Needed: J2ME, J2SE, Programming

Virtual Reality Environment API
The "Virtual Universe" is a 3D cyberspace which offers more possibilities than just chat: it is a combination of the Web, communication and instant messaging within a virtual reality environment.
Within the universe of 3dchat.org everything can be used for free including hosting of own worlds for building and testing.

Since version 0.65 of the client software this virtual reality environment offers a programming interface to use the software and its functionalities out of own applications. This API is completely open, all sources are available here at virtualuniverse.dev.java.net.

We're looking for people who are willing to participate in the further development of that API:
  • to enhance the API itself
  • to add useful tools and classes to handle the API more easy
  • to implement (example) applications that use this programming interface
  • or simply to get help and support about the usage of the Virtual Universe API and the development for that virtual reality system

Skills Needed: J2SE, Programming, Testing, Translation, Writing
