Mylar - a very useful Eclipse plugin: If you are working in Eclipse, you will find that Mylar plugin can be very handy. It monitors your interaction with the workspace and filters out the classes / methods / fields that you do not use or change. The resulting view of the workspace is much more focused on your current task.

Excellent article by Ron Bodkin about using AspectJ and JMX technologies for monitoring: Ron Bodkin has written an excellent, detailed article about using the Glassbox Inspector project. This combines AspectJ and JMX technologies to add monitoring to applications in a clean and modular way.

At the time, I've only touched on the basic features by briefly explaining how to write a Japex driver and a Japex configuration file. JavaOne Tokyo '05: Hotel rooms and technology: A last minute check of my reservation leaves me without a room for JavaOne. Forget the fancy online reservation systems...this requires a good, old fashioned, direct phone call.
