arrow Rita and Google Earth overlays
Rita2.Thumb DIY Weather channel - Ivo Janssen writes "I was browsing the Hurricane Rita path on the NOAA website, and then realized that Google Earth does image overlays. So I turned NOAA's boring picture into fascinating 3D views of the hurricane path. Currently, it's slated to miss Austin, make landfall at Matagorda Bay, take US-77 to Temple and Waco and then go on over Forth Worth". Link.

arrow Homemade Donnie Darko Frank The Bunny Halloween Costume
Frank Excellent costume on eBay - The costume includes the Mask, the suit, and gloves. The mask is made of high quality professional mask latex (the kind they use in big budget horror films) and it comes straight from an original mold that I created. What that means is you will not find this particular mask anywhere else but here. The gloves and suit are made of alpine fleece and faux fur. Link.

arrow 100lb working Gameboy project
Gameboy-ThumbNice project via Kotaku It's over 3 feet tall and weighs 100 pounds with a working cartridge. Guess this Game Boy isn't exactly portable. No wonder they call it the "Game Man." Designed by an art student named Jeff, this massive machine is his senior project. He was planning to make it seven feet tall, but didn't have enough cash. Price for Game Man construction? $500. arrow HOW TO make your own "PowerSquid Outlet Multiplier"
Dsc06066I A few days ago I saw the "PowerSquid" on ThinkGeek a very cool 5 outlet power strip that allows you to plug in those bulky square adaptors. I was going to order one, but they were out of stock and I also realized I could make my own, with a total of 8 outlets for almost half the price of the PowerSquid, here's the simple cheap version... arrow DIY iPod nano alarm clock
44724411 Fd3Ace66Bf THere's an update on the iPod nano alarm clock dock...I've cannibalized a set of old Apple pro speakers, an extra iPod dock and an iPod speaker accessory meant for the iPod Shuffle. Right now it all works, it gets power and sounds out - next up is to make a cool looking clear enclosure and mount it on the wall, or hang it. Here are some pictures... Link.
