Windows 2000 as well as Windows XP Professional both allow the end user to construct a IPSec Firewall without having to rely on canned or "for purchase" third-party solutions. I myself am amazed when paging through industry journals that spend most of their time painting most Firewall systems as half-baked because those systems only prevent ingress packets and not egress packets. I must admit that after witnessing Windows XP's sorry excuse for Firewalling (this indeed is half-baked), I was heartened to see that Microsoft left the IPSec functionality alone while upgrading Windows. The only sin Microsoft is guilty of in this regard is burying the IPSec system so very deep in the system, where in Windows 2000 it's nearly at the surface. Windows 9x is completely helpless in this regard and Linux uses a different system altogether so this is primarily going to just concentrate on Windows 2000."

Don’t Have Windows Clear Your Page File In many cases, you may have set up Win XP to clear you page file at shutdown. This takes about 20 seconds. Unless you’re trying to be stealthy, you should turn this off.

This guide will show you how to use a PicoSwitch in combination with a simple voice recorder to make a radio controlled voice/sound effect box. You can then mount this box into a radio controlled car, plane, boat, robot etc. and have fun triggering sounds at just the right moments. All you need to do is to take wires from the 'play' switch of a voice recorder, and connect them to a PicoSwitch. First, you will need to find a device that can record and play back sound. I found this voice recording photo frame at Radio Shack marked down to $5. You could also use the circuit inside one of those recordable greeting cards. These standalone voice recorders always have little batteries inside that last for a long time so you don't have to worry about external power.
I recently heard about a new webmail client from my friend Justin, who’s infatuated with it. RoundCube, a “browser-based multilingual IMAP client with an application-like user interface,” is the latest and greatest webmail client. It’s only in the alpha stage of development, which explains the jagged installation procedures, but that doesn’t mean it can’t kick some major squirrels. RoundCube is much smaller, scalable, and less resource intensive than another competitor, Zimbra, which weighs in at 150 megabytes. The interface is the stunning with lots of AJAX magic as well as user configurable via XHTML and CSS 2 skinning. I love RoundCube so much, I’m declaring it better than Gmail. Yes, you read that correctly. Hopefully by the end of this article you will have a fully functioning RoundCube webmail client on your server.

And if you haven’t seen it before, yes, I painted it too ;-) Anyways, after cleaning it and fixing a crack in the filmlayer I thought it was allright. It did survive WhatTheHack but the last few weeks the crack in the filmlayer started acting up again… So, time to find a solution."

Although I’ve recommended a few specific products, there are so many options (with new ones arriving all the time) it’s impossible to cover all of them. Therefore, this article describes noise reduction basics so you can make informed decisions on the best approach for treating your PC. This procedure is very similar to modifying the Windows 2000 boot logo. Microsoft decided to remove the pallet from the logo to another location. So now when you open up ntoskrnl.exe in Resource Hacker, the .bmps are just black images. For those of you who have no idea what I am talking about, don't worry.
The first tool you will need is Resource Hacker. First locate your ntoskrnl.exe, which can be found in \windows\system32. Make a copy of your ntoskrnl.exe and rename ntoskrnl.bak. Now fire up Resource Hacker and open the ntoskrnl.exe.
Dell Poweredge SC420 PCI Express 16x Video Card MOD
Dell included a 16X PCI-E slot with the Dell SC420. Oddly only enough pins for an 8X card are present, and they placed 2 dividers preventing the use of a 16X card even though it's a 16X slot. Knocking out those two dividers and running a 16x card at 8x is the plan. With the minimal effects of 8X vs. 16X, this modification was a go
I read in many places before I began on the best method to go about doing this modification. When it really comes down to it, this mod really just requires your patience.
