What follows is an enlightening list of things that can and will go wrong during a forensics investigation. Some of them are "documentation is an afterthought","you're over your head, but can't admit it to your management" and of course "you don't care" - the mother of all reasons to fail...

Google wants to encourage students to participate in open source projects. That's why they've announced the Summer of Code, where students can sign up to produce open source projects in conjunction under the guidance of prominent, community-led open source organizations, to earn $4500.

Is the Open Directory Project in Trouble?
The Open Directory Project (ODP or DMOZ)is an apparently idealistic all volunteer source of taxonomic Web information used by the major search engines including Google. ODP is run by Time-Warner-AOL-Netscape along idealistic principles, and it is the largest human categorizer of Web info. It's been clear for a while that things are getting sluggish at the ODP (increasingly weird considering the dyanamic nature of the Web). Now come allegations of corruption and scamming from an anonymous supposed ODP editor.
