EJB 3.0 Early Draft Spec is now available for download
The Expert Group for JSR-220 has published an Early Draft Specification. EJB 3.0 is one of the most expected APIs being developed by the JCP.

Exception chaining in JDBC
Exception chaining has become an increasingly popular pattern as a way to better manage exceptions. As part of JDBC 4.0, we are giving consideration to introducing exception chaining to the primary exception class definition: java.sql.SQLException.

What is in JWSDP 1.4...
Sun has announced that it will release JWSDP 1.4 in the very near future. New features in this release include support for additional containers and support for two key news specs: BP 1.1 with Attachements Profile 1.0 from WS-I and Web Services Security from OASIS. Stay tuned to this channel for the actual release of the bits.

Welcome! Stax Utils project
The purpose of the stax-utils project is to help facilitate the adoption of JSR-173: Streaming API for XML (StAX) by providing a set of utility classes that make it easy for developers to integrate StAX into their existing XML processing applications. This project already has contributions from different individuals. There are nightly builds, but not yet stable builds.

A second look at BPELJ
BPELJ will make it possible to use BPEL to orchestrate long-running interactions with Web Services and J2EE components, but embedding language specific logic within a BPEL document is an idea that should be debated by the Java community.
