New Early Access Version of the Java BluePrints Solutions Catalog Available!
The Java BluePrints Team has released an updated early access version of its project, Java BluePrints Solutions Catalog. This release adds a catalog entry on using SOAP attachments for sending XML documents on Web service calls, and an entry on creating tabbed view using JavaServer Faces, JavaServer Pages, and JSP Tag files. Download it from the bpcatalog project at java.net.

Sun Proposes Single Data Persistence Model for Java
Sun has proposed a new specification that would be based on the convergence of two other specifications, EJB 3.0 and JDO 2.0. The effort is aimed at providing a unified data persistence model for the Java community. What is proposed is a Plain Old Java Objects (POJO) persistence model.

The Java 2 Platform Enterprise Edition 1.4 (J2EE platform) Connector Architecture defines a standard set of contracts that extend the capabilities of a J2EE application server with those of external enterprise information systems (EIS) by plugging in connector modules, also called resource adapters (RAs). Application components can use RAs exactly as they would use other J2EE components.
