What’s the difference between Chat and Build?
Chat is conversational Hugo Q&A — quick questions, debugging, config help. It uses a fast, lightweight model and is unlimited on every paid plan. Build is generative work — producing full pages, blog posts, configs, and slide decks. Build uses frontier AI models on Pro and above, so it has its own allowance separate from chat.
What does "frontier AI models" mean on Pro?
Pro, Max, and Team use frontier AI models with Thinking enabled for Build generation — producing higher-quality, more detailed pages and content. Free and Plus use a capable but lighter model. All plans use the same fast model for Chat.
What if I hit my Build allowance?
Your Build allowance refills at the start of every billing period. If you reach it mid-period, you can upgrade for a higher allowance or top up from your billing page — no need to wait for renewal. Your current usage and remaining allowance are always visible in the in-app dashboard.

Does it work for non-HugoBlox Hugo sites?
Yes. Hugo Chat knows vanilla Hugo (layouts, partials, config, shortcodes, hugo.toml) as well as it knows HugoBlox.
