Frequently Asked Questions

Is ArcadeDB really free for production use?

Yes. ArcadeDB is open source under the Apache 2.0 license and free to download, run, and deploy in production with no cost. There are no node limits, no core limits, no feature gating, and no separate enterprise edition. Clustering, high availability, vector search, and every query language are in the free build.

Will the ArcadeDB license ever change?

No. ArcadeDB is committed to remaining Apache 2.0 and the license will not be changed. The Apache 2.0 grant on released code is irrevocable, so any version you already have stays free under those terms regardless of what happens in future.

What am I paying for in the Silver, Gold, and Platinum plans?

The paid plans are optional professional support subscriptions, not a different version of the database. They buy guaranteed response times, a priority issue queue, backported patches, and escalation handling. Silver is $299 per server per month with a 4 hour S1 response in business hours, Gold is $599 with a 1 hour S1 response and 8am to 8pm CET coverage, and Platinum is $1,499 with a 30 minute S1 response, 24/7/365 critical coverage, and a dedicated technical account manager.

How is support priced across multiple servers?

Support plans are priced per server, per month, and can be billed monthly or yearly. Yearly billing saves roughly 17%. If you are running a large fleet, volume licensing is available: contact us and we will tailor a plan rather than charging the list rate per node.

What is the Studio AI Assistant and do I need a paid plan for it?

The Studio AI Assistant is an AI copilot for ArcadeDB Studio that converts natural language into SQL, Gremlin, or Cypher, explores your schema, and suggests query optimizations. It is included in every paid support plan, and it is also available standalone at $19.99 per month if you do not need a support subscription.

Do paid plans come with a contractual SLA?

Yes. All paid support plans carry guaranteed response-time SLAs. The full severity definitions, coverage hours, and terms are published in the ArcadeDB Service Level Agreement.
